Just to involve clans more in day to day play, thought it might be a good idea to have some association with clans and astrology (since astrology already exists) or something similar.. for example, for certain time periods when planets are aligned correctly, all SMAC clan members might have better chance of popping eq or might have higher damage resistance or +hit or something like that, at other times it might be all DOW clan members and so on.. if it ran on the astrology system would be relatively random and hopefully not biased in any way..
good idea? do-able?
and of course, my clan would be tied to futility, and we’d have all spell durations chopped in half :P
really though… this would be way too close to giving clans ’tangible’ benefits, which I think was something that people wanted to avoid, and also might start giving newbies the idea that they really do have to join a clan to play well.
I would still like clan-specific no-stat clasps though :)
i agree, on a good clan Pirate day, our cruiser can drift into the harbor and turn all the little Smac fishing trollers into debris with our cannons..

zero affect clasps would be nice.. the other thing that would be nice is a tag for you’re clan tag in title.. so “title [DoW] this is a title” That or just make it so color code chars don’t count towards title length :)

Such a clasp could be made without any recourse to code, just using the in-game scripting language. Feel free to pester any gods you see about that - all gods love pestering!

It would indeed be difficult to make clerics stink any more than they already do. However wearing a scarlet letter clasp, would help to further identify how crappy cleric primes are.
