Well, in all fairness the T&D square was never a safe room, it just had a regen bonus in the room.

That said, it does seem kind of silly to make a regen room, charge people drachma to get in, and then not make it a safe room. I, and a ton of others, almost never regen there for that very reason.

But then again, thats just my opinion… what do i know.

Nods, having problems seeing the point in having the extra regen bonus if it’s not safe to regen there - unless of course you first bank ALL your coins, get changed in scribes, remove everything from your inventory, then reverse procedure when you’re done regenning.. by which time it probably isn’t such a bonus anymore. Since it’s a fairly hefty sum (30 drachma) to gain access to the area, you’d think those shopkeepers would have some decent security huh.. gotta question why the access key was removed and now you only need to ‘sign ledger’ too.. certainly good for the pthiefs now they don’t have to carry a key and risk losing it…

I agree T&D should be safe.

I noticed it wasn’t safe. I simply go 1 east , sit, eq change , then go back 1 west and sleep. That room is a nocast room.. assuming it also nosteal. But you also MUST sit during eq change to avoid getting pushed out of that room.

Gotta love this. A few months ago people where complaining on the crier about having to have a letter to get into the Weaver, beacuse it could be lost, tashed by mistake or (worst of all) stolen by a pthief. Now they are complaining that we don’t have to have a letter because it makes it easier for pthieves. So which one is it - letter that can be stolen by pthieves, or letter that pthieves have to carry?

BTW, as has been pointed out, the room has never been safe. I fail to see the point of cussing out someone for something they didn’t do (ie changing the room), the stupidity is entirely in the court of the person who simply assumed the room was safe, and never bothered to check before sleeping there. Anyway how is this different from the regen bonus that druids get from sleeping outside, or should we make all outside areas safe as well?

And before someone says “Well druids don’t pay drachma for that”, you are not paying Drachma to regen in the Weaver area, your are paying Drachma to have access to the equipment in the inner rooms. Specifically I recall it was done beacuse people where abusing the system by creating newbies and buying oct tokens to give to their other chars. The octs are inside now, most of the newbie quests on Valk require something like level 8, and so it requires some actual effort to get the 30 drachma and get into the inner shops.

I don’t care about letter or no letter, but I don’t think the regen room inside the weaver should be stealable. And I’m more or less pro-pthief.

Actually, I more or less agree with Aaron, though I have an idea why it isn’t like that. If anyone remembers the regen room on Sloth I… it became so crowded that they built an extention to it just so we didn’t all have to sit in the same room. If I remember correctly, it was safe and had a pthief problem as well.

Auri has the right plan though.

Grue I don’t really care that much about the key - certainly not enough to make it an issue. It’s certainly easier for players without one, but also very convenient for pthieves, considering this is a room people would go to for the express purpose of regenning. I was one of the many people who initially made the presumtion that if coders were adding regen bonuses to a room that you access only by initially spending 30 drachma to get there, then it would most likely be nosteal as well. Whatever, I don’t use it, it just seemed to defeat the purpose, but whatever yo, count me out of this conversation from here, not into wating my time - it is what it is and if we don’t like it much, too damn bad, don’t use it.

The most annoying thing to me about recent pthieves is that personal eq can be stolen. If I autoquest in a quest that can only be done once, then if the eq is stolen it’s permanent. I can’t get that eq back short of wiping the character and starting over. Elite eq is less permanent, but it’s still ridiculous to not have a nosteal flag on it. I can spend 600 drachma on a personal item that can’t be used by character but the one who purchased the item, but it can still be stolen.

I’ve been successfully pthieved from twice in the last week. It’s not enough to make me quit playing entirely, but I’m done for this week.

I guess if I had a choice between making the square nosteal and having personal EQ nosteal (including the autos) I would certainly agree with the latter, but even more so for the autos which you can’t repeat, and which they certainly can’t use or even sell.

And I guess my point really was that any post stating that

is just unreasonable and unpleasant. No matter how upset you are you just don’t have to use that kind of language. I play this game for pleasure and don’t see why I have to see this kind of language posted here.

But yeah on a serious note I do agree, making that room non-safe is just too easy for me. #10 steal coins $target on separate targets can get me a few 100k coins and if I’m lucky maybe some cool water containers along with it (Btw, wts skull of a shifting dragon).

As a response to auri’s post, I’ve gotten at least 400k in clean coins from you. Keep it up, kay? :)

Tip:

1. Sleeping 3n from Wide Gate does not give you any safety.

2. After a CR, do NOT loot your corpse, recall, and sleep at wide gate. (and then cleverly gossip : he got me while I was shifting gear :(:()

Treasure and dreams was never a safe room and never will be. A player is paying drachma for their letter so that they can enter and purchase elite eq, anything else is a bonus.

Just for shits and giggles, do a help inf next time online. And you will see Blaster and I didnt have the easiest time getting regen bonuses put ingame. Jackasses like Shadis make me wonder why we fight for stuff sometimes.

On a side note, the “morons and assholes” are debating making personal eq nosteal.

Well imho, your general inability to function in what could only be called a social environment would suggest at least some insecurities irl, the very drive to cause harm to other people in any way for no reason (saying you enjoy it proves this even more) is an unhealthy trait.

The results about your diagnosis are in. You are suffering from a highly contagious disease called stupidity. The most known carriers of the disease ingame are Rynquald and the Aching Vagina Gang (more commonly known as Dragonsworn). Some lesser, irrelevent beings also seem to carry it. Thanks for the changes guys, the no-steal flag on some eq will be very helpful. Now to campaign for that personal robe clasp that was added and removed way back when.

As the pthief said, no reimbursement is necessary. I’m not sure why I killed him so easily, he must have lagged between the first firestorm and the second. I did get my sword back. The other pthief incident I was not able to recover the eq, but purchased most of it back for 2 mil coins.
