Imo Sloth (and other muds) could go on indefinitely. Most games die off as the result of something newer and better coming along, slowly becoming outdated and playerless as people move on to the next thing. But the way I see it, muds are already outdated from a technological standpoint, if they can’t be killed by the coming of modern graphics, sound, massive playerbases, etc, what is going to do it?
Personally I’d say one of our strongest points in comparison to newer and bigger online games is the almost total lack of that special breed of player who makes you question if it’s even worth playing.
And to repeat earlier posters, it’s always seasonal.

This is the third and hopefully final iteration of this matrix.
Although, it seems anomalies will persist. Polkadots was an anomaly. He somehow managed to wish himself out of existance, regretted it, and now lingers around offending people like a boiled egg fart. He spurns reincarnation as an option, because he knows the road to greatness is so long and strenuous. One of only a blessed few of the highest stabbers, lowered to the status of newbie? But neither can he walk away from the mud. So he remains as a ghost in the forum. Doomed for the rest of days to be nothing more than a minor nuisance.

The game will go on as long as the administration has the money to pay for it and enough time to keep it going. Which we hope and expect to be a long long time.
We are working on (slowly) some stuff that could bring a lot of new players into the game. It’s one of those things which could work or could flop. We’ll see. Don’t fret over it being something that will dramatically change the way you play, it isn’t that.
We also have some long delayed improvements to the game which will probably get going again pretty soon.
In any case, the best way to get more people to play is to invite them personally or otherwise let them know you are playing. The other big boosts to new players occur when we are ranked highly on the voting boards.

##1) Mortals implicitally and willingfully leave Mortal- Form Immorts (immo’s playing their char) alone.
##2) Those who’ve spent years and years perfecting
their chararacter and have reached 5x40 (AVATAR)tard status start hearing less bickering from newbies :arrow: lowbies :arrow: fourties (through) :arrow: 3x40 & upward about how, "Dude, you're amazing." Without having to say, "Thanks, I like to play." While still being shown respect by Immorts.
##3) Respect by Immorts as illustrated above as a requirement does not only apply to in-game but on web-link threads and also is not only applicable to Avatar Hall of Fame (5x40)- chars. …Look at how much sunshine gets shown up autolycos’s ass and the way they’ve treated me–.
##4) Full re-instatement of Polk’s EQ which was taken from Gumbi while in use (Polk was sitting at the inn and Gumbi was trying to learn a better solo) Which was JUNKED by a BUG on being dropped, (after voiding if you’ve quit! with brand new elite-drachma stuff save and wear it, if you do-not wear it it will not be on your character. Which is what happened and no-one wants to help, still.)
I’ll address the –Post a Random Stupid Comment– thread that Yinao must think any one thread I’ve attached anything to is affiliated with later. I wonder what he’ll say about these sarcastic responses to in-game b.s. which is regular? I’d imagine they’re really stupid ideas and mostly lies, Yinao will be right, doesn’t matter what I say. by the way john, i DO have a clue on what happened, considering Yinao is my brother and we talked about it IN PERSON! so maybe YOU should get a clue and another thing, stop WHINING about getting talked to by newbies jesus christ, did you know you are playing the game as a high level character you are pretty much there for helping newbies, its how the game works. and maybe next time you try to kill a whole group with firestorm, you’ll have the Pair to stay there and take a fight, rather than fleeing like a wuss.
Maybe 5x40s could exist somewhere in the middle of those two posts. Where we don’t share Polk’s curious views on being talked to by newer players, but where we also aren’t there -purely- to help people :)

New Star Wars for Wii
Wield the Wii remote as a lightsaber in a specially designed version of The Force Unleashed for Nintendo’s console.
September 18, 2007 - Ever since Nintendo unveiled its new videogame console, players have fantasized about the possibility of an original Star Wars game in which the Wii remote would effectively become a Jedi’s lightsaber. It’s taken publisher LucasArts much longer than expected, but on Tuesday it revealed that it is indeed working on a project that will make use of Nintendo’s controller in exactly that fashion. A Wii iteration of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed will, according to the company, give players “… the chance to live out their fantasies by wielding the Wii remote as a lightsaber while using the nunchuk controller to torment foes with their Force powers.” Sold.
The Force Unleashed has already been announced and previewed for next-generation systems, but today’s news marks the first mention of a Wii build. In a twist, gamers star as Darth Vader’s secret apprentice as he attempts to rid the galaxy of Jedi in a story set between Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope.
“The Wii is a great platform for The Force Unleashed, because the console’s motion-oriented controllers really bring the game to life,” said Jim Ward, president of LucasArts. “We’ve worked hard to make the Wii version of the game unique in order to truly let you unleash the Force.”
The Wii build of The Force Unleashed is in development by Krome Studios and is set for release during 2008’s spring season. The game will add an exclusive duel mode in which “players can compete head-to-head with their friends to determine the ultimate Jedi Master.”
This would be a way to breathe new life here…Kjartan and Splork could code wintin to pick up signals from a “wii-like” device. Then when we wanted to kill a kobold or whatever, we could stand in front of our pc and swing away. Sure it may look odd and the family might not like it when Hannah Montana is on but screw them.. close the blinds and run thy household. Another bonus.. it would completely disable “botting”….unless someone rigged it up to the ceiling fan. Then they would be busted because someone standing in a room, needlessly swinging their weapon about…well that’s just silly.

for the market in which it competes it’s pretty solid, actually - drunken bowling with friends, little kids and girls like alot of the sports stuff, and i see infinite possibilites for that wii stripper pole game at parties.
