I’ve been playing around with my prompt recently, one of the things I’d like to have in it is the room name I’m in.
Now I can put the Area I’m in in my Prompt ($Z), I can also put the Continent I’m in into the prompt ($c), but not the room.
I didn’t think this would be so much of a problem because I also have a client based prompt that puts an additional line of prompt below the mud prompt that shows me various status things like time left on lite / stoneskin which of my various toggles I’ve got switched on and how long til my pets crumble stuff like that.
I thought I should be able to capture the Room Name as I enter each room, store as a variable and bang into this client prompt.
The trouble I’m getting is that I can’t see a way to logically decide what is a room title and what isn’t just from the text feedback.
Has anyone got a neat (or un-neat) solution to this?
Many Thanks,
Thraxas
wow your prompt(s) must be spammy with all that info! I just show the default hp, mana and moves, and then the max hp dimmed out to the background color which is used for my whiner, that’s it.
Sorry, this doesn’t answer your question at all.
ask someone who uses a lloyds beacon/passage reporter. they usually will gtell something like “my beacon/passage is set at
“rick ’em rack ’em ruck ’em rake! stick that sword into that snake!” –genie –>disney’s aladdin
Firebrand,
nod thanks for that … hadn’t thought of that … anyone out there can help?
Weasel,
not too spammy, it all fits on 2 lines, one for mud prompt one for my own, I suppose it might look spammy to some, but suits me.
Well, I dont recall which client you said you use but I use wintin and in the MXP there is an auto variable that fills in which room your in and what the room desc is etc. So im not sure if yours will have the auto fill in that wintin.net has but if it does I would search under there..
:(
I use AL Client … no mxp support for that
shame it can’t be part of the normal player prompt really.
Even if it had mxp support, the roomname bit doesnt update in certain circumstances due to the way its implemented. I have talked to various imm’s about it and even emailed a few but I never got a reply from the emails.
tbh i think the imms are tired of me pointing out typos/bugs ;)
