There is a very good, long explaination for why I am leaving, why I have chosen to leave, however it isn’t really important and it’s very late at night and I honestly don’t give half a shit if you really care or not. The reason I am leaving in short form, post explaination I will give you a list of eq that is gone, and will not be reimbursed as last of what I know. Anyway, I would just like to inform the players of SlothMUD III that if you are to quit! while having any elite flag eq on your character person, it will be not personal (apparently). This is the explaintion I was given by Seda, earlier this morning. If she is wrong, whomever should explain this to her. Anyway, Gumbi having quit! while wearing a new elite flagged cloak == his eq disappearing. This is the explaination of the immortal staff which I accept. Here now is the list of the items which I remember having been lost. There are 60 items or more that were important that are gone. Now I won’t play because a pfile restore is not in the cards, so there’s no way I’m going through getting these things back in order. I’m done, forget this place… it is useless enough. I must tell you I really did enjoy (somewhat) the company of (most) of you players. I played since 2001 when I made Polk, it took a long time to get all that eq together and things in correct order. I’ve been left for nothing here and I’m through. Here is a short summary list of the items that’ve become missing and a good enough explaination of why I won’t play. I can, but I won’t because of this list….

helm radiance, helm old, frozen lilies, tooled brace, spiked ring, ring thieves, jade ring, shield dream weaver, godly shield light, ruddy scale shield, glass eye, sable cloak, elvish brace, 2 vengeful spirit bracer, 2 ring ancient evil, sharpened blade ebony darkness +3 dam, Cloak Forgotten Tales, jovian armaments, sleeves desert wind, filthy doll, symbol obsidian knight, white-bag, thieves-pouch, adamantine gloves, sphere prophets, …. that’s around half.
Take care unless someone decides to take another look at the log-type file of whether or not elite eq disappears when a character quit! (s) or if it did not disappear and someone took my password and junked my eq from the character. I sort of remember after having quit! my char, I got back into my vault, voided after picking everything up. I seem to remember picking up the Cloak Forgotten Tales which was new to me and had all of these items in it. I voided without using ‘wear all’ …so much for it. I’ll talk to whomever later. For discovering the “not so well known” secret to those potions that make you explode.
The day I was sitting at the well, and a group of 15 people came through, and you wear the only one mounted, and you were riding a mule… I laughed so hard, because that typified how you played the game, it was always different than most others. You were always trying these silly little ideas, and I was quite surprised by how often they actually worked out!
The day we killed that mob in Karsa for that junk treasure item and died multiple times. Good times.
The day I corpsed and you got my xp back that I lost, as I was only <10m from an important level.
Some people won’t care that your leaving, but hey, I enjoyed some of the kaotic moments that I had grouping with you.

Bye Gumbi Polk. I’m not sure what happened or who you are mad at. It’s confusing because you alternate so quickly between hateful and friendly. Making vague threats against the sloth firewall and threatening to find out where people live so you can kill them is something I don’t understand. Either you’re harmlessly emotional or dangerous. I’m not sure which it is, but I’ve had many a good conversation with you as Gumbi (for some reason Gumbi is nicer than Polk). So you will be missed.
Sometimes its better just to leave for a while and come back rather than swear you’re never coming back. Just think how useless all the information in your head about our gameworld will be if you don’t play anymore :)

Anyway, I’ll do that if weasel can come-up with a little less pity for others. I am not deserving of Pity, I don’t ask for it and I do not require it. What I had wanted to receive was my privledge to play Sloth like the rest of you. Now I’m a dash of asterixes from Yinao’s misspelled point of view (sqeucwed) anyway. Guys really you all should listen better, pay more attention to what’s going on around you. Take less mind and full admiration in the MUD. It is a game, ignore the consequences of a game. You all took that firestorming far too seriously. As far as my character is concerned. I would hope that it is wiped, apart from p-worded. I have played sloth not only since 2001, but since 1995. Firstly, I can’t help but find it absolutely hilarious when people make threats of physical harm online. Makes me wonder if anyone that does it has ever actually been in a dangerous situation irl.
Anyway, on to the point… Lots of people (including me, more than once) have lost eq via bugs before, and it always gets reimbursed. Drach eq poofing on quit! would be an obvious bug, there has to be something more to the story.
Not to mention the fact that most of the listed eq isn’t personal anyway.

Everyone knows the repercussions to quitting using the quit! command. I look at is as if you quit your job, that you had for 30 years, made a big stink, let everyone have all your office stuff and computer, and a few days later decided to come back, wanting all your stuff back, all your benefits, etc…
Its not a bug or anything else that you didnt get your equipment back. You left it on the ground and publicly offered it to anyone who could come get it. Also, personal items do not “poof” by themselves once they have been assigned to someone. You want us to reimburse equipment that will end up being cloned if we do – thats all I have to say about that.
You got passworded for firestorming a group and killing 4 people. This doesnt help your case, now you are not only not getting any eq back, you are not getting your guy back either.
Anyhow, a few days earlier I watched Yinao repeatedly beat you down like some newbie that just learned how to play after you tried the firestorming stunt on him. I might have been embarrassed enough to quit also if that were me – I would think after all that playing since 1995 you might have done a little better.

A bit later he changed his mind, logged in and wants his eq back.
Obviously, he didnt get anything for very logical reasons, in addition he got passworded for PK.
Having neither eq nor char, he has no option exept to quit for real.
