max dex and thief skills

·397 words·2 mins

From the stat ordering page in sloth library:

Dexterity (DEX) strongly affects many thief skills, and a high value improves your

AC (armor class)

Does anyone know what these skills are, and if they are affected by +max dex?

after testing between 18 and 20 dex i’ve seen no noticeable differences between my backstab rates at least.

Between miss/hit rates before and after you mean?

What about damage? Does it change the multiplier or anything?

didnt test the damage, miss/hit and tripple stab rate didnt change or at least i didnt notice after 4 hours of testing

Thanks, I guess I might do damage testing on that some day, but it’s not high on my priority list after seeing your results.

Got another thief question to ask..

Does anyone know if there’s a cap on +stab_dam? Even in regengear (wearing about half my stabgear) the message “Even your fiercest foes cringe at the sight of your approaching blade” shows up, so I can’t really tell if the rest of it does anything.

I’ve got +34 at the moment, and I’m looking to get more, so I wanted to make sure it was worth it.

If no one knows, I’ll be looking to poke a few holes in someone soon! ;)

Thanks!

Isn’t there a specific message, when you reach a cap in any of your abilities?

I doubt that 34 is the cap ;)

I’m not aware of any cap message, because I’ve never capped anything.

I agree that 34 would be a weird cap, I just like to plan ahead and I can see reaching around +60 in an ideal situation.

But, if 60 is above the cap, then I can work toward different gear instead, saving some time.

Not verified. I need to do that someday. The way I got from somewherehere is. +Dam adds to stab multiplier,

example 20hp dam at 5dam could yield 5 x 20 = 100hp damage.

+Stab dam is added on after your stab. So given same circumstances

with 15 stabdam. 5x20=100hp+15 115hp. depending on roll? circle dam added after that if you land one in the first round also.??

The way I understood it was this:

stab output = ([damage roll] + [dam]) x [stab multiplier] + [stab_dam]

Also, I thought stab multiplier was dependent on thief levels and thief class position, and no other dependence had been verified.
