Reportedly the great, great, great… uh, very great ancestor of the Mayan ciivilization was found last week (he was in a piggly wiggly buying tobacco). The Mayan was asked about 2012, and how the Mayans prophecy stated that the end of the world would come.
“Oh, no. I’m afraid you’ve lost something in the translation. It’s just the day when the people of the world realize how rediculous real TV is and it is banned from television stations, thus creating world peace.”
There you have it, folks. 2012… end of reality TV… peace on earth.

I got a better idea. We have a reality tv show about the end of the Mayan calendar.
Get a bunch of nuts who really believe in that stuff together and have a show that lasts from 2011 to 2012.

Seriously, the last workday before the new years eve 1999, I had a 25 year old woman come up to me in the workplace and ask me if the world was going to end on y2k.
