I have been playing here since 91 and probably would have been til I died snicker, but I just don’t have the ability to level someone up again. Ever since i got the optic neuritis in 06 my eyes have bothered me so much that I just can’t really group anymore because I get headaches from it. What I enjoyed was doing spellbooks and minor eq and stuff like that for newbies. There really isn’t a person on the mud that I haven’t helped at one time or another. But with this resetting of the mud I will not be able to do that which I loved. I will miss you all dearly. I still plan on logging on but just to talk really I don’t have the ability to do much more. Please know that it really was a lot of fun and I spent way too many hours doing this anyway.
if you want to talk my icq is 562319582
just remember without the newbies the mud won’t stay running and please someone take the time to care for them like I loved doing for years.

Shyla, slothmud will never be the same without you. Judging from the posts, it’s a full reset. Pretty ballsy thing for the admin to do - it’s almost certainly a make or break for slothmud as a result.
Thank you for everything, Shyla.
Game over man.

You were the kind mother of slothmud. I’m with ya. Best of luck to the players that remain and to the admin that has given so much of their time.
Despite anything that may happen, I want you to know.
I praise and admire you as Woman and Human being, you are the best of anything that a person can be made of.
Either if you choose to continue to play or not - i wish you all the luck and achievement possible.
You are the most shiny example of our race in Universe’ terms.
~Sincerelly yours, Yasik.
Shyla.. if you come back, I will.
..actually, that might give you a reason to stay away. heh.
Maybe this pathetic kid will do it for you:

Yeap, Shyla, some players will be remembered for what they achieved, and then others like yourself will be remembered for who they were. Character is everything. You were the true legend. All the best in however this pans out.
hugs deb, im retiring as u are:) gl hf and all the best to upcoming sloth
If Ba Dr stats give me another 9 str I will prob be retiring as well :)
Sloth3 wouldn’t have been what it was without you Deb.
I hope you’ll still be around in the new incarnation of the game. But if not, I wish you all the best with whatever life may bring.
i still plan on getting on to chat just probably not much more…you can get a hold of me on icq at 562319582

gief back sloth museum :)
You stupid bloody noob, jesus dont you have a brain, why the hell would you go and do something like that!
I think that was one of the first things Shyla said to me.. or words along them lines. When i quaffed a green potion on SS and died to zombie slaves in fiends. That was about 6-7 years ago. Yet despite the ear bashing, she got a group together, to go get all my leather pants/jacket/helmet etc back.
It’ll be nice to see you play again, you’re probably one of the reasons SlothIII lasted 10 years. HUGS Shyla
Like Shyla, after logging in a couple of times I have (finally) come to the decision I just don’t have the time or the inclination to start again from scratch. Don’t get me wrong - there are no hard feelings about the reset at all, it just created an opportunity for me to make a personal decision, which is in no way a negative reflection on SlothMud itself.
I’d like to thank the many people who have both directly and indirectly contributed to SlothMud over the years, and particularly to Jake and Splork and the entire admin/coders for their continued support and maintenance of SlothMud. I’ve met many awesome people here over the last 8 years or so, and a few assh0les along the way too, but hey, they just make me appreciate the good people even more.
I’ll probably stop by and skim the forums from time to time, but that’s about it. Maybe someone else can take over the top spot “Hall of Fame Avatar Poster”.. I believe this post will be number 2,500 for me - a nice round number to end on.
Bonus: you won’t have to put up with me whining about [perceived] Warrior prime issues any more either!
A special adios to the [b:3p2bx3h4]=[/color:3p2bx3h4]sMAc=[/color:3p2bx3h4][/b:3p2bx3h4] clan members (the Sloth Mud Anglers Club), although it seems most of us had moved on to other fishing grounds before the reset anyway. Keep it real guys.
So long, and thanks for all the fish.
Out.
I hate to hear that someone is leaving because they just don’t have the time to dedicate to Sloth anymore but if anyone understands, its me and several others here.
I have a fiance, a 1 year old, Im going back to school and finding time to run the game and then time on top of that to try to play is nearly impossible. However, I manage.
You should of seen Clink trying to help code some things while having a job that runs 24/7, a family that keeps him constantly on his toes, and me in his ear every other second. However, he managed.
The same goes for Jake, krom, juggle and others. However, they all find the time.
I think its because we all love this game. Its a fantastic hobby to have.
I know I will never be able to lead the who list like before or keep up with the power levelers again. I can still find a little bit of time here and there, to play my mortal and enjoy the game. Its amazing at how gratifying it is to simply pop a water breathing spellbook. Or the first time I cast sanc on Strider again. It really isnt about dedicating time to have the highest level character on Sloth or to reach the last level of sloth, log in and enjoy playing with your friends. Even if its only an hour every couple of days.
I mean, who really gives a sh#t if you can’t firewind anymore? I certainly do not. What I do care about is that you stop in, grab a few levels, throw out some comments about warriors and their skills, and get away from your real life for an hour or two.
Here is a perfect example, Shyla has not quit. She will never quit on us:)
Yes, she may cut down on her time but…
Ranni is leading ‘The Apalling Crew’ on Thordfalan:
(Wa:0.13) Ranni
(Cl:0.06) Shyla
Enjoy,
Splork

Oh i am getting on and doing a very little, but my problem isn’t about time I have time at least for the next week while I am still on medical leave. My problem is I can’t do big groups b/c my eyes can’t take it it gives me headaches. And because of that I will never have the levels to do what I really loved doing which was popping spellbooks relocating them to newbies…moving newbies and dowsing and teaching.
I still plan on being on, but it will never be fun like it was to ME.
I know everyone is different about what they like and things had to be done and that is life. But everytime i get on i am just depressed. I have yet to have any fun other than talking to my friends like ranni and stuff.
I will probably never totally leave b/c I just have no life with no kids and all but shrug.please by no means use what I am saying as a reflexion whether you should play or not. I am one of the few people depressed everyone else seems really happy about the changes and i am not just saying that I have heard what they say. Now if anyone wants to get me the levels I need to do what i love……..cackle

I don’t know of a player on sloth over the past few years that hasn’t been helped by Shyla, I don’t know of any player that dosen’t have respect / admiration for her.
Many who play or have played here owe a lot to Shyla.
We all know Shyla isn’t your average player with the same motivation / way of playing as the rest of us, she’s demonstrated it time and time again, I’m not sure she should be treated in the same way as the rest of us.
I’ve no idea what the imms / shyla would think of this, but I for one would welcome in this one instance the imms creating a unique position for Shyla … perhaps resurrecting the isatar title and giving her a helping hand to serious levels so she can do what she always did, and loves doing, not for her own gain but to help all of the rest of us find a comfortable home in the new Sloth.
