I know I will probably be ridiculed and taunted for writing this. I know i could create a new anon name and write this without the repercussions of possibly offending someone. However I’m not gonna do that. This is my chance to be a testimony to others that might not beleive.
I’ve been playing sloth now for about 8-9 years. I consider everyone who plays to be a friend. This post is mainly for our russian friends who play here.
There are events happening in the world today that point to certain prophesies declared in the bible. One such prophisy is Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal. (Russia) allying with Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya.(Persia who is now modern day Iran) Basically it states that Russia teamed with iran and other nations in the south will attack Isreal. If that happens alot of bad things will happen to those countries attacking.
I post this to my Russian friends of sloth to ask that If you dont know God, to seek him out. If you do know God. I ask that you pray for your leaders of your country. If the events of the book of Ezekiel play out , as what’s prophisied in the bible, it will spell disaster for the world. I post this as a warning for non beleivers that the End of Days could quite possibly be in our lifetime, and to ask that you please seek God, ask for his forgivness and open the door to your hearts and invite him into your life.
This is the entire excerpt from Ezekiel 38
Ezekiel 38
A Message for Gog
1 This is another message that came to me from the Lord: 2 “Son of man, turn and face Gog of the land of Magog, the prince who rules over the nations of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him. 3 Give him this message from the Sovereign Lord: Gog, I am your enemy! 4 I will turn you around and put hooks in your jaws to lead you out with your whole army—your horses and charioteers in full armor and a great horde armed with shields and swords. 5 Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya[a] will join you, too, with all their weapons. 6 Gomer and all its armies will also join you, along with the armies of Beth-togarmah from the distant north, and many others.
7 “Get ready; be prepared! Keep all the armies around you mobilized, and take command of them. 8 A long time from now you will be called into action. In the distant future you will swoop down on the land of Israel, which will be enjoying peace after recovering from war and after its people have returned from many lands to the mountains of Israel. 9 You and all your allies—a vast and awesome army—will roll down on them like a storm and cover the land like a cloud.
10 “This is what the Sovereign Lord says: At that time evil thoughts will come to your mind, and you will devise a wicked scheme. 11 You will say, ‘Israel is an unprotected land filled with unwalled villages! I will march against her and destroy these people who live in such confidence! 12 I will go to those formerly desolate cities that are now filled with people who have returned from exile in many nations. I will capture vast amounts of plunder, for the people are rich with livestock and other possessions now. They think the whole world revolves around them!’ 13 But Sheba and Dedan and the merchants of Tarshish will ask, ‘Do you really think the armies you have gathered can rob them of silver and gold? Do you think you can drive away their livestock and seize their goods and carry off plunder?’
14 “Therefore, son of man, prophesy against Gog. Give him this message from the Sovereign Lord: When my people are living in peace in their land, then you will rouse yourself. 15 You will come from your homeland in the distant north with your vast cavalry and your mighty army, 16 and you will attack my people Israel, covering their land like a cloud. At that time in the distant future, I will bring you against my land as everyone watches, and my holiness will be displayed by what happens to you, Gog. Then all the nations will know that I am the Lord.
17 “This is what the Sovereign Lord asks: Are you the one I was talking about long ago, when I announced through Israel’s prophets that in the future I would bring you against my people? 18 But this is what the Sovereign Lord says: When Gog invades the land of Israel, my fury will boil over! 19 In my jealousy and blazing anger, I promise a mighty shaking in the land of Israel on that day. 20 All living things—the fish in the sea, the birds of the sky, the animals of the field, the small animals that scurry along the ground, and all the people on earth—will quake in terror at my presence. Mountains will be thrown down; cliffs will crumble; walls will fall to the earth. 21 I will summon the sword against you on all the hills of Israel, says the Sovereign Lord. Your men will turn their swords against each other. 22 I will punish you and your armies with disease and bloodshed; I will send torrential rain, hailstones, fire, and burning sulfur! 23 In this way, I will show my greatness and holiness, and I will make myself known to all the nations of the world. Then they will know that I am the Lord.
and Ezekiel 39 continues with:
Ezekiel 39
The Slaughter of Gog’s Hordes
“Son of man, prophesy against Gog. Give him this message from the Sovereign Lord: I am your enemy, O Gog, ruler of the nations of Meshech and Tubal. 2 I will turn you around and drive you toward the mountains of Israel, bringing you from the distant north. 3 I will knock the bow from your left hand and the arrows from your right hand, and I will leave you helpless. 4 You and your army and your allies will all die on the mountains. I will feed you to the vultures and wild animals. 5 You will fall in the open fields, for I have spoken, says the Sovereign Lord. 6 And I will rain down fire on Magog and on all your allies who live safely on the coasts. Then they will know that I am the Lord.
7 “In this way, I will make known my holy name among my people of Israel. I will not let anyone bring shame on it. And the nations, too, will know that I am the Lord, the Holy One of Israel. 8 That day of judgment will come, says the Sovereign Lord. Everything will happen just as I have declared it.
9 “Then the people in the towns of Israel will go out and pick up your small and large shields, bows and arrows, javelins and spears, and they will use them for fuel. There will be enough to last them seven years! 10 They won’t need to cut wood from the fields or forests, for these weapons will give them all the fuel they need. They will plunder those who planned to plunder them, and they will rob those who planned to rob them, says the Sovereign Lord.
11 “And I will make a vast graveyard for Gog and his hordes in the Valley of the Travelers, east of the Dead Sea.[a] It will block the way of those who travel there, and they will change the name of the place to the Valley of Gog’s Hordes. 12 It will take seven months for the people of Israel to bury the bodies and cleanse the land. 13 Everyone in Israel will help, for it will be a glorious victory for Israel when I demonstrate my glory on that day, says the Sovereign Lord.
14 “After seven months, teams of men will be appointed to search the land for skeletons to bury, so the land will be made clean again. 15 Whenever bones are found, a marker will be set up so the burial crews will take them to be buried in the Valley of Gog’s Hordes. 16 (There will be a town there named Hamonah, which means ‘horde.’) And so the land will finally be cleansed.
17 “And now, son of man, this is what the Sovereign Lord says: Call all the birds and wild animals. Say to them: Gather together for my great sacrificial feast. Come from far and near to the mountains of Israel, and there eat flesh and drink blood! 18 Eat the flesh of mighty men and drink the blood of princes as though they were rams, lambs, goats, and bulls—all fattened animals from Bashan! 19 Gorge yourselves with flesh until you are glutted; drink blood until you are drunk. This is the sacrificial feast I have prepared for you. 20 Feast at my banquet table—feast on horses and charioteers, on mighty men and all kinds of valiant warriors, says the Sovereign Lord.
21 “In this way, I will demonstrate my glory to the nations. Everyone will see the punishment I have inflicted on them and the power of my fist when I strike. 22 And from that time on the people of Israel will know that I am the Lord their God. 23 The nations will then know why Israel was sent away to exile—it was punishment for sin, for they were unfaithful to their God. Therefore, I turned away from them and let their enemies destroy them. 24 I turned my face away and punished them because of their defilement and their sins.
Restoration for God’s People
25 “So now, this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will end the captivity of my people; I will have mercy on all Israel, for I jealously guard my holy reputation! 26 They will accept responsibility for their past shame and unfaithfulness after they come home to live in peace in their own land, with no one to bother them. 27 When I bring them home from the lands of their enemies, I will display my holiness among them for all the nations to see. 28 Then my people will know that I am the Lord their God, because I sent them away to exile and brought them home again. I will leave none of my people behind. 29 And I will never again turn my face from them, for I will pour out my Spirit upon the people of Israel. I, the Sovereign Lord, have spoken!â€
These two verses describe a great horror of death and destruction. As prophisied, it will come true. whether it will be in the near future, or sometime in our lifetime. I just ask all beleivers and non beleiver to prepare yourself spiritually.
God Bless
When you start to force your feelings and thoughts on others you overstep the boundries of religous purpose.
Honestly you needed to keep what you wrote here to yourself, sloth is not the place for it.
Modern day religion, especially evengellical christianity is destroying the world.
I take my personal beliefs in my own christianity and take that with me when i pass. I dont need to do what you just did to prove it. You have no spiritual right to damn others.
Im truly disgusted that you needed to do that banter here.

In no way shape or form did write this to “damn others”
I mearly cut and pasted text directly from the bible.
I posted this because people who play here are not only people from the US but from other countries. and ALL beleivers and NON beleivers need to know the current events of the world. Ezekiel 38 is stating things that the scholars of the world from the past said would never happen. If you keep up in world times. what is written in Ezekiel ,may come to fruition in our lifetime.
Russia IS allying with Iran. Soon other countries will too. This is not a statement of damnation, it is a statement of fact. So if that’s the case people i care for, who live in other countires, who may not know God or even those that do, to prepare yourselves spiritually.

He wasn’t forcing his opinion on anyone. He didn’t say read this or I will punish you. Just because someone posts their opinion, doens’t mean they are forcing it on you or anyone else. If you don’t want to read it you don’t have to. There are several non-MUD posts made here. Those weren’t seen as forcing an opinion on anyone. I am sure he meant no ill-will. He’s only doing what he believes is right.

No worries Popa, regardless of what the Bible says, anyone who cares to look can see those bonds forming already - that passage in the Bible is just pointing out the obvious.
{side-tracked rant} I get so sick of extremist Islamofacists having their rants about beheading etc anyone who doesn’t do as they say and everyone here having to listen in the name of ‘political correctness’, yet the same ‘political correctness’ is used to silence Christians in the US under the premise that it is annoying to non-Christians. I am not a religious person, however I do recognize religious prejudice when I see it. This isn’t a rant about opinions expressed here, just an observation about life in ’the land of the free’ which bugs the crap out of me.{end rant}
I’ll just play the role of confused. I read that entire thing and I’d need some pretty hardcore explaination to see how it relates to current times at all, or how the geography applies. One of the particular points that I would think needs explaining is the portion where it says that Isreal would be attacked after they had been at peace for some crazy amount of time.
They’ve been fighting on and off for decades. Did someone declare peace and I didn’t notice?
12345,
Once i get home from work this evening, i’ll try my best to explain the correlation between this text and current world events.
LOL. Revelation is definitely confusing. Don’t read it right before you go to bed. Wierd dreams..
Dare I stick my toe in the waters to test?
Alot of what Popa is considered ‘speculation’ however as my dear, furry friend Weasel stated, even if you don’t believe or rather choose NOT to accept, mere summary of worldwide events make the pieces of the puzzle fall into place. I just finished a reading a book on this very topic. Basically it is proposed that The King of the North (Russia) and The King of the West(Iran and other middle-eastern collaboraters) really don’t have a choice. God is going to ‘drag’ them into Israel to their destruction. America and most European countries will do nothing to assist. At this time, the anti-christ will rapidly rise to power. Partaking in a temporary truce with Israel and The King of East(China), he will steadily consolidate power until he breaks the truce and conquers both Israel and China at the same time. At this time, he will establish his home base in Israel and force a one world government. and so forth..
Anyways, thats the gist of the book. Doesn’t mean it’s exactly what’s going to occur to the ‘T’ but it’s a popular thought.
Other trains of thought focus more directly on the soon-to-happen police state that America will become. With the ‘illegalization’ of Christianity occuring across the world, it’s as if the blueprint that is Revelation is coming to pass. I’m not one to judge anyone and call someone a true Christian versus someone putting on airs, but a Christian (one who is more knowledged in the books than I, trust me) would tell you that it is pre-ordained that we are to be persecuted for our beliefs and even to expect to be killed. Also, God will allow the non-believers to fail to receive
clear understanding as these events transpire. In such case, they will find
all kind of explanations for how events are going down. They will go out of their way to deny the truth.
I’m sure this is scatter brain as I’m not that articulate but I can see where Popa is coming from.Choose to believe or be prepared to be deceived.

When a few well timed nuclear devices go off in major cities the one world govt will form. I won’t be surprised if the UN can declare martial law within 10 years. It does not matter what you want to do. The people that fight back initially will be slaughtered to show that the NWO does not deal lightly with rebels. The US provides the majority of tactical weapons, troops, and money. America will easily be tricked into the one world power. Waco and OK already paved the way for legislation destroying the right to form a militia. 911 destroyed privacy rights and formed the basis for govts around the world to communicate intel. America is full ready for the final brainwashing. Freedom of Religion down the drain in place of “environmentalism”.
I have heard that 3-5 nukes are already in the US ready to be set-off at a moments notice. Probably more if the truth was told. I think def New York City and Washington D.C. are top cities that will be attacked… also Miama, 2-3 major cities out west and likely Atlanta since the C.D.C. is based there.
This might be a little lengthy because i’m going to quote things from a book. (Probably the same one hades just got done reading) The book’s title is called Jerusalem Countdown a prelude to war.
12345 i hope this sheds a little light for ya. again this isnt to be taken litteraly, but more of a guide to help understand what “could” be taking place in our lifetime.
quote " It would be sure fanaticism to suggest that the bible mentions the word “Russia” in the text. Yet God, through Ezekiel, has made some very clear and specific revelations in the Bible concerning the rise of a great power to the north of Israel that will destroy the peace and stability of the world at the end of days."
“Daniel 9:27 informs us that there will rise on the world’s scene a man of supernatural power who, Daniel says “.. shall destroy many in their prosperity” (Daniel 8:25). This man will come out of the European Union and will try to resolve the Islamic/Israeli dispute now raging in Israel.”
“This politcal orator and charismatic personality will make a covenant with Israel for seven years, Guaranteeing them safety and protection as a nation. In scripture he is called the Antichrist, “the son of Perdition” meaninf Satans’s Chief son (2 thess. 2:3). when the events of Ezekiel 38 open, the nation of Israel has been given a covenant by this politcal leader, who is the head of the european union.
“the Jewish people are confident that the European powers will protect them from any outside aggressor or invader. Israel is aware that Russia is its enemy. For years Israel has known that Russia has been helping Iran develop neuclear weapons to be used against them. This seven year peace accord between the head of the EU and Israel is in the near future”
“it is important for the reader to understand that the bible prophecy divides te world military powers into four sectors just before the end of the age. (See Daniel 2:31-35) The four great world military powers just before thge end of the age are simply called the king of the north , the king of the south, the king of the east, and the king of the west. It is important to remember that all directions in scripture are given based on their geographic relationship to Israel.”
Chapter 12 of this book goes into great detail to demonstrate the king to the north is Russia, the king to the south is the Arab nations, the king to the east is China , and the king to the west is Europe and america.
" let us first consider the king of the north because it is a kingdom that lies north of Israel.
And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, SOn of man,
set thy face again Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of
Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him.
- Ezekiel 38:1-2, KJV
“Gog is a word for Ruler, which in literally means " the man on top” "
“the verse tells us that Gog was “chief prince” of the land of Magog.
[i:2kfuhf4f]Chief[/i:2kfuhf4f], which means, [i:2kfuhf4f]Head[/i:2kfuhf4f], is the hebrew word [i:2kfuhf4f]Rosh[/i:2kfuhf4f]. In his ancient hebrew lexicon, Gesenius (1786-1842), the great hewbrew scholar identified rosh as an ancient name for Russia.”
Anyhow. this is just a small excerpt from this particular book. I recommend picking it up at the book store if you are curious to learn more. It touches on a bunch of things, not just Russia. It is quite intriguing. Again, This information is just that. Information that quite possibly could happen in our lifetime. Not saying tomorrow or next year, but quite possibly in our lifetime.
This has the distinct feel of Y2K about it. Peace in Isreal is near impossible given its history and geography. Considering it is the basic pre-requisite of all this, I think we got a lot of time on our hands.
Jimmy Carter wanted to be the antichrist. Too bad hes just a hick farmer with not enough sense to wipe his ass.

Also, considering the number of people on this planet… we’re bound to have mass death/destruction either caused by war or plague. It’s inevitable. If you really want to do something that helps people just treat everyone like they’re worth something even if you believe they aren’t.
what the ufck is this shit?!?
First of all, I SPANKED god when he was 4 years old….you need to take this somewhere else…someone’s gotta draw a line in the sand with this crap somewhere…
<Chaos>
I’m mearly posting words of compassion for my fellow man. The bible has fortold many many prophecies, of which more than 500 have been fulfilled. The jewish state of Israel ceased to be a nation in a.d 70 when the Roman army lead under Titus scattered the jews over the ends of the earth. it would be more than 2000 yrs before they would Proclaim Israel an independant state again. Ezekiel fortold this.
Then say unto them, “thus says the Lord God: ’ Surely I will take the
children of Israel from among the nations, wherever they have gone, and will gather them from every side and bring them into their own land.
-Ezekiel 37:21
On May 14 1948 at 4:32 pm the state of Israel , after two thousand years, was reborn. Today they have a flag, a constitution, they have a prime minister.and a Knesset. They have a police force, a powerful military, and the worlds best inteligence agencies.
some might see the verses of the bible as mythical, or propaganda, but you surely cannot deny the fact this did happen. One of many things that are being played out in the current world events, that tie in with the scriptures of the Bible.
My purpose was to bring light to those who are in the dark, and to hopefully touch the hearts of many. although only few will see.
I’m not trying to push my religeous views on any of you. Only to report things that were fortold more than 2000 yrs ago in the bible, are coming to fruition. See it as you may. these events ARE playing out. You can call it whatever you feel, However turn on the news channel and see for yourself. Draw your own conclusions.
I love all of you in Christ. even though i will not be loved in return.
God Bless.
I’m puzzled by the harsh responses to Popa. He is not trying to be malicious to anyone and therefore deserves no mis-treatment. He’s trying to help. It’s like this, we are all in a log cabin in the mountains going skiing. Popa finds out an enormous avalance is going to happen which will destroy the cabin and kill everyone in it. He can either tell everyone about it, or keep it to himself. He is choosing to tell. Whether or not you believe him is irrelevant. He isn’t saying get out of the cabin or I will kill you or if you don’t believe this avalanche is coming, you are an idiot and I will laugh as you are being consumed in freezing snow and impaled by shattered logs. He’s just saying, dude, I think there is an avalanche coming and it will destroy this cabin. Really, if he believed that and didn’t tell anyone, he would be a selfish jerk. Aside from that, there a lot of non-MUD related posts in the crier. No one is being forced to read them and certainly no one is being forced to agree with them. I think Popa is just wanting to be compassionate.
I think he’s after all our shoop-shaped cookies
Good Analogy Aeolus, but I think you should have taken it ne step further by adding..
Some people would see the avalanche coming and deny it any more than a large snowball.
By definition, a discussion of this sort WILL draw a lot of emotional response, even if the emotion is “this is crap”. Popa would surely have been prepared for this :) Part of the end-time persecution prophecy stuff tends to foresee a lot of crap coming down on any surviving christians.
Popa seems to want to be higher than life.
He can take his view on the good book and shove it up his rear sideways.
Keep your religion in church, I dont go to your church and preach sloth.
I’m not saying anything good or bad about Popa. Time marches on. I’ve heard many doomsayers, and none of them have been right yet. Popa’s goes so far as to identify benchmarks of when this will all happen. Peace in Israel has been bumpy, to say the least. Just last year it was upset when the Humas failed to acknowledge that Israel existed at all.
So, the avalanche may be coming, but given the timelines, we’ll have plenty of opportunity to see if events match any kind of prophesy or take a completely different course.
Steve I think you should have just invited them all to be good people and try to do the right thing always.
before i get started, let it be understood that i am not specifically attacking steve. when i say “you/your” it is just the words that i am thinking at the moment, so please don’t anyone take this personally.
i don’t have a problem with most of the basic concepts in the bible. i embrace the fact that everyone is free to choose their religious beliefs. what i have a SERIOUS problem with is those christians who think that because i am a celtic shaman priestess, i am “lost” or “need saving” or “don’t know what is going on”. did you bother to ASK me first? do you even know anything at all about me or how i was raised (in a southern baptist home, whose bedtime stories were bible stories)? i can sit and teach a sunday school class if you ask me (although i would tell you ask someone who won’t teach the kids how to ground and center).
i feel there is more out there for me to learn than what christianity alone teaches me. almost every single “christian” holiday we have is a christianized version of ancient pagan celebrations because back when the catholic church was establishing its chokehold on the world, the churches could not get enough butts in the pews due to everyone back then wanting to stick with what they knew. i am not going to keep going on - there is not enough patience among our posters/readers.
read this: http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Delphi/4792/convert.htm (no i did not write it, but i find it quite thought-provoking) and then get back with me. oh and PLEASE don’t try to preach to me or convert me or save me and don’t pray for my soul. it’s already lost to yahweh, who is, in my opinion, an impetulant child at times.
i have seen christianity through baptists, catholics, methodists, jews, non-denominational, charismatic, and a few other churches that i have visited in my lifetime. i still have many other faiths to explore, but for now, i still choose my god and my goddess.
i am HAPPY with my lifestyle as it is. my spells work exactly like your prayers: i have a specific goal in mind, i go to my altar, light a candle, and make my request of my deity. you go to your altar (church), you kneel and pray to make your request of god. the difference between a spell and a prayer is simply how and who does it. they are both structured the same way. again, enough of the teaching. if you want to know more, ask me offlist.
i at least don’t go stand outside of your church and tell you that your religion is wrong because i don’t agree with it. i will GLADLY go inside and visit your church so that i can make an informed choice of whether or not i want to continue attending. why won’t YOU come to MINE and show me the same respect and courtesy?
how many christians accept the fact that king james had the bible edited (which is why it is called the king james VERSION) during his reign? it has a lot of gaps, contradictory information, and anything that gave women power was deleted out and the original scrolls/texts containing those passages destroyed. go talk to any high school (and above) history teacher and ask them about it. it is basically structured as free-verse poetry, which is why it is organized into book/chapter/verse. where was jesus from age 12 to age 33? why isn’t that in the bible ANYWHERE?
i don’t believe in paying hard-earned money for my god to bless me. does your mother and your father charge you money for them to love you? no. i don’t believe in taking tracts and bibles and going out into the amazon jungle and telling the inhabitants there that they are sinners and going to hell because they don’t call their great spirit god/jesus. they don’t give a shit.
tell me why, if there was only one adam and one eve, when cain killed abel, he had to be “marked” so that “all would know of his crime”. basically, every other person on the planet would have been his siblings (and their progeny….incest….boggles my mind how god allowed it then but not tells you its a sin) and all would know him and what he did anyway!
explain to me why almost every single religion has a creation story, a first couple story, a massive natural disaster story, a miracle/magic worker story and some other similar basic structures.
why were only 5 of moses’ 9 books (the first five of the old testament) included in the bible? and since moses was born AFTER adam and eve were created, then how could he POSSIBLY know what happened in the garden of eden?
where IS the garden of eden?
have i created enough questions and food for thought for you?
stepping off my soapbox and await the flames

“I absolutely believe in God. And I hate the fukker.” – riddick –>pitch black
I dont hold any ill will towards anyone who might be critical of me. My main reason for sharing what i beleive to be the end of days , is to mearly say that. Not to run around and shout the sky is falling . the sky is falling. BUt mearly to give facts of world events. show correlation between those factual events and what events in the bible lead to the End of Days. I have alot of friends who play here. My purpose of posting this is to share what i beleive could happen IN OUR LIFE TIME. Not saying its gonna happen tomorrow. or the next day. or even next year, or even at all. But quite possibly in our lifetime. That’s my peace. Flame on if you will.
God bless
Hmm. IMHO most recognized religions are just different expressions of the same thing - they all acknowledge a higher power of some form (or multiple forms) but have different ways of honoring those dieties/gods/whatever. If each religion would just recognize that their form of worship is just one option of many, each as valid as the next to the practitioner, there would be few problems. How one chooses to do it should not be the issue, the fact that you do it, or even just how you live your life and how you treat others (poke at pthieves hehe) is what matters imho. In the meantime, there are a number of religions that are little more than groups of closed-minded people fighting over who has the best imaginary friend.
FB, what’s a celtic shaman priestess? Is that Wiccan?
Once again I am taking liberty in speaking for Popa. Popa, if I misrepresent your intentions, please correct me.
Firebrand - Popa is not trying to convert you nor anyone else on this board. He was just sharing what he believed. As far as I can tell he didn’t criticize anyone else or their beliefs. I went to the link on that website and read the questions you asked in your post. I think even if I even if a “perfect” answer to all of your questions and all of the questions on the website was provided, it wouldn’t change anything. I don’t believe you can ‘convince’ anyone to believe anything they don’t want to believe.

Is that Wiccan?
weasel, i will answer you offlist….too much to put here and most ppl are not interested. but no, shamanism is not wicca. as for the comment posted above that, i think you said it all. i agree with you. my religion is right for me because that is the one that calls to my heart. christianity is right for steve because that is the one that calls to his heart. i am not here to say that anyone is wrong for believing something. i am only saying this: leave me to my gods and i will leave you (whoever the word you fits) to yours.
aeolus, you totally bypassed my first sentence where i explained that i am NOT attacking steve/popa and also the use of you/your was not directed at any ONE person, but as a way of organizing my thoughts. secondly, i acknowledge that steve himself is not trying to convert me. read things carefully before correcting me, mmkay?

I didn’t totally bypass it.
before i get started, let it be understood that i am not specifically attacking steve. when i say “you/your” it is just the words that i am thinking at the moment, so please don’t anyone take this personally.[/quote:3hy6iubc]
I understand. I did not say you were attacking him in my post. But I did read it as a response to Popa and therefore may have misunderstood what you meant about being converted.
oh and PLEASE don’t try to preach to me or convert me or save me and don’t pray for my soul.
[/quote:3hy6iubc]
read things carefully before correcting me, mmkay?
[/quote:3hy6iubc]
I wasn’t correcting you. I just tried to explain what Popa said in a different way.
thought popa was under new ownership…is this the same Steve I met in Ft. Lauderdale two years ago??
let me put it in a nutshell(as it pertains to me), putting all the politics and foreign policy aside(which is the cart behind the horse)…I find any god who has to threaten me with hellfire to procure my worship very immature, especially for something that supposedly has ‘universal awareness’…I don’t respond well to antagonism and intimidation…I use intelligence and common sense to make decisions in my every day life, and I refuse to believe in something so intangible, that refuses to unequivically prove its existence, hiding behind the guise of ‘blindly believe to reap the rewards of my existence’(which I have encountered in most religious philosophies). This ‘I am a jealous god’ and the ’love me, believe in me, pay attention to me’ attitude is petty, and I cannot blindly trust my life in the hands of such an embryonic mentality-
<Chaos~>
hmm interesting thread,
first off I’ll take Popas intention as it comes across, thanks for your concern and willingness to endure ridicule and flame to do what you believe to be right.
second, I don’t believe a word of most of this thread, most texts of sufficient length, the bible included can be selectively quoted to prove virtually anything. Those who quote them start from the premise this text is the word of ’the gods/God/nostradamus/the grand sage Yugli/aliens’ and therefore a truth, then the text must be interpreted, my pet interpretation is ’the world ends tomorrow/the oil will run out in 10 years/velcro came from outer space/ the world ended last week and we all missed it/jesus was american/eating pizza creates babies’ as I have made this interpretation so it must be the only interpretation and therefore uncontravertable truth.
I’ve heard the bible quoted to prove Bill gates is both the second coming and the anti christ, I’ve heard quotes from nostradamus that prove prince charles will cause the end of the world, the Qur’ān proves its both right to kill in defence of your faith and never right to kill, Revelations predicted Chenoble, Leonardo predicted manned flight, Plato predicted the invention of the computer, I don’t believe any of it.
I’ve heard many pet theories by many self proclaimed experts all good meaning and as long as I can walk away and no one asks me for money I’ll wish them good luck and hope things turn out alright for them.
The movie was ok, but the whole ‘omniscient, all-powerful-devil until-the-last-5-minutes’ thing gets a little old.
Just in case anyone is seriously concerned most of the below are predictions of doom, make your own mind up:
About 30 CE: The Christian Scriptures (New Testament), when interpreted literally, appear to record many predictions by Jeshua of Nazareth (Jesus Christ) that God’s Kingdom would arrive within a very short period, or was actually in the process of arriving. For example, Jesus is recorded as saying in Matthew 16:28: “…there shall be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom.” In Matthew 24:34, Yeshua is recorded as saying: “…This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.” Since the life expectancy in those days was little over 30 years, Jesus appears to have predicted his second coming sometime during the 1st century CE. It didn’t happen.
About 60 CE: Interpreting the Epistles of Paul of Tarsus literally, his writings seem to imply that Jesus would return and usher in a rapture during the lifetime of persons who were living in the middle of the 1st century.
About 90 CE: Saint Clement 1 predicted that the world end would occur at any moment.
2nd Century CE: Prophets and Prophetesses of the Montanist movement predicted that Jesus would return sometime during their lifetime and establish the New Jerusalem in the city of Pepuza in Asia Minor.
365 CE: A man by the name of Hilary of Poitiers, announced that the end would happen that year. It didn’t.
375 to 400 CE: Saint Martin of Tours, a student of Hilary, was convinced that the end would happen sometime before 400 CE.
500 CE: This was the first year-with-a-nice-round-number-panic. The antipope Hippolytus and an earlier Christian academic Sextus Julius Africanus had predicted Armageddon at about this year.
968 CE: An eclipse was interpreted as a prelude to the end of the world by the army of the German emperor Otto III.
992: Good Friday coincided with the Feast of the Annunciation; this had long been believed to be the event that would bring forth the Antichrist, and thus the end-times events foretold in the book of Revelation. Records from Germany report that a new sun rose in the north and that as many as 3 suns and 3 moons were fighting.
1000-JAN-1: Many Christians in Europe had predicted the end of the world on this date. As the date approached, Christian armies waged war against some of the Pagan countries in Northern Europe. The motivation was to convert them all to Christianity, by force if necessary, before Christ returned in the year 1000. Meanwhile, some Christians had given their possessions to the Church in anticipation of the end. Fortunately, the level of education was so low that many citizens were unaware of the year. They did not know enough to be afraid. Otherwise, the panic might have been far worse than it was. Unfortunately, when Jesus did not appear, the church did not return the gifts. Serious criticism of the Church followed. The Church reacted by exterminating some heretics.
1000-MAY: The body of Charlemagne was disinterred on Pentecost. A legend had arisen that an emperor would rise from his sleep to fight the Antichrist.
1005-1006: A terrible famine throughout Europe was seen as a sign of the closeness of the end.
1033: Some believed this to be the 1000th anniversary of the death and resurrection of Jesus. His second coming was anticipated. Jesus’ actual date of execution is unknown, but is believed to be in the range of 27 to 33 CE.
1147: Gerard of Poehlde decided that the millennium had actually started in 306 CE during Constantine’s reign. Thus, the world end would happen in 1306 CE.
1179: John of Toledo predicted the end of the world during 1186. This estimate was based on the alignment of many planets.
1205: Joachim of Fiore predicted in 1190 that the Antichrist was already in the world, and that King Richard of England would defeat him. The Millennium would then begin, sometime before 1205.
1284: Pope Innocent III computed this date by adding 666 years onto the date the Islam was founded.
1346 and later: The black plague spread across Europe, killing one third of the population. This was seen as the prelude to an immediate end of the world. Unfortunately, the Christians had previously killed a many of the cats, fearing that they might be familiars of Witches. The fewer the cats, the more the rats. It was the rat fleas that spread the black plague.
1496: This was approximately 1500 years after the birth of Jesus. Some mystics in the 15th century predicted that the millennium would begin during this year.
1524: Many astrologers predicted the imminent end of the world due to a world wide flood. They obviously had not read the Genesis story of the rainbow.
1533: Melchior Hoffman predicted that Jesus’ return would happen in 1533 and that the New Jerusalem would be established in Strasbourg, Germany. He was arrested and died in a Strasbourg jail.
1669: The Old Believers in Russia believed that the end of the world would occur in this year. 20 thousand burned themselves to death from 1669 to 1690 to protect themselves from the Antichrist.
1689: Benjamin Keach, a 17th century Baptist, predicted the end of the world for this year.
1736: British theologian and mathematician William Whitson predicted a great flood similar to Noah’s for OCT-13 of this year.
1792: This was the date of the end of the world calculated by some believers in the Shaker movement.
1794: Charles Wesley, one of the founders of Methodism, thought Doomsday would be in this year.
1830: Margaret McDonald, a Christian prophetess, predicted that Robert Owen would be the Antichrist. Owen helped found New Harmony, IN.
1843: Joseph Smith (1805-1844) was the founder of the Church of Christ, which became the Restorationist movement after many schisms. It now includes The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – a.k.a. the Mormons, and about a hundred other denominations and sects. He heard a voice while praying. He wrote:
“I was once praying very ernestly to know the time of the coming of the Son of Man, when I heard a voice repeat the following:
‘Joseph, my son, if thou livest until thou are eighty-five years old, thou shalt see the face of the Son of Man; therefore let this suffice, and trouble me no more on this matter.’
I was left thus, without being able to decide whether this coming referred to the beginning of the millennium or to some previous appearing, or whether I should die and thus see his face. I believe the coming of the Son of Man will not be any sooner than that time.”
Smith would have reached the age of 85 during 1890. Unfortunately, by that year, Smith had been dead for almost a half century.
1843-MAR-21: William Miller, founder of the Millerite movement, predicted that Jesus would come on this date.
1844-OCT-22: When Jesus did not return, Miller predicted this new date. In an event which is now called “The Great Disappointment,” many Christians sold their property and possessions, quit their jobs and prepared themselves for the second coming. Nothing happened; the day came and went without incident.
1850: Ellen White, founder of the Seven Day Adventists movement, made many predictions of the timing of the end of the world. All failed. She made one on 1850-JUN-27 that only a few months remained before the end. She wrote: “My accompanying angel said, ‘Time is almost finished. Get ready, get ready, get ready.’ …now time is almost finished…and what we have been years learning, they will have to learn in a few months.”
1856 or later: At Ellen White’s last prediction, she said that she was shown in a vision the fate of believers who attended the 1856 SDA conference. She wrote “I was shown the company present at the Conference. Said the angel: ‘Some food for worms, some subjects of the seven last plagues, some will be alive and remain upon the earth to be translated at the coming of Jesus.” 11 That is, some of the attendees would die of normal diseases; some would die from plagues at the last days, others would still be alive when Jesus came. “By the early 1900s all those who attended the conference had passed away, leaving the Church with the dilemma of trying to figure out how to explain away such a prominent prophetic failure.”
1891 or before: On 1835-FEB-14, Joseph Smith, the founder of the Mormon church, attended a meeting of church leaders. He said that the meeting had been called because God had commanded it. He announced that Jesus would return within 56 years – i.e. before 1891-FEB-15. (History of the Church 2:182)
1914 was one of the more important estimates of the start of the war of Armageddon by the Jehovah’s Witnesses (Watchtower Bible and Tract Society). They computed 1914 from prophecy in the book of Daniel, Chapter 4. The writings referred to “seven times”. The WTS interpreted each “time” as equal to 360 days, giving a total of 2520 days. This was further interpreted as representing 2520 years, measured from the starting date of 607 BCE. This gave 1914 as the target date. When 1914 passed, they changed their prediction; 1914 became the year that Jesus invisibly began his rule.
1914, 1915, 1918, 1920, 1925, 1941, 1975 and 1994, etc. were other dates that the Watchtower Society (WTS) or its members predicted. Since late in the 19th century, they had taught that the “battle of the Great Day of God Almighty” (Armageddon) would happen in 1914 CE. It didn’t.
The next major estimate was 1925. Watchtower magazine predicted: “The year 1925 is a date definitely and clearly marked in the Scriptures, even more clearly than that of 1914; but it would be presumptuous on the part of any faithful follower of the Lord to assume just what the Lord is going to do during that year.”
The Watchtower Society selected 1975 as its next main prediction. This was based on the estimate “according to reliable Bible chronology Adam was created in the year 4026 BCE, likely in the autumn of the year, at the end of the sixth day of creation.” They believed that the year 1975 a promising date for the end of the world, as it was the 6,000th anniversary of Adam’s creation. Exactly 1,000 years was to pass for each day of the creation week. This prophecy also failed.
The current estimate is that the end of the world as we know it will happen precisely 6000 years after the creation of Eve. There is no way of knowing when this happened.
1919: Meteorologist Albert Porta predicted that the conjunction of 6 planets would generate a magnetic current that would cause the sun to explode and engulf the earth on DEC-17.
1936: Herbert W Armstrong, founder of the Worldwide Church of God, predicted that the Day of the Lord would happen sometime in 1936. When the prediction failed, he made a new estimate: 1975.
1940 or 1941: A Bible teacher from Australia, Leonard Sale-Harrison, held a series of prophesy conferences across North America in the 1930’s. He predicted that the end of the world would happen in 1940 or 1941.
1948: During this year, the state of Israel was founded. Some Christians believed that this event was the final prerequisite for the second coming of Jesus. Various end of the world predictions were made in the range 1888 to 2048.
1953-AUG: David Davidson wrote a book titled “The Great Pyramid, Its Divine Message”. In it, he predicted that the world would end in 1953-AUG.
1957-APR: The Watchtower magazine quoted 6 a pastor from California, Mihran Ask, as saying in 1957-JAN that “Sometime between April 16 and 23, 1957, Armageddon will sweep the world! Millions of persons will perish in its flames and the land will be scorched.’
1959: The Branch Davidians of Waco TX believed that they would be killed, resurrected and transferred to heaven by APR-22.
1960: Piazzi Smyth, a past astronomer royal of Scotland, wrote a book circa 1860 titled “Our Inheritance in the Great Pyramid.” It was responsible for spreading the belief in pyramidology throughout the world. This is the belief that secrets are hidden in the dimensions of the great pyramids. He concluded from his research that the millennium would start before the end of 1960 CE.
1967: During the six day war, the Israeli army captured all of Jerusalem. Many conservative Christians believed that the rapture would occur quickly. However, the final Biblical prerequisite for the second coming is that the Jews resume ritual animal sacrifices in the temple at Jerusalem. That never happened.
1970’s: The late Moses David (formerly David Berg) was the founder of the Christian religious group, The Children of God. He predicted that a comet would hit the earth, probably in the mid 1970’s and destroy all life in the United States. One source indicated that he believed it would happen in 1973.
1972: According to an article in the Atlantic magazine, “Herbert W. Armstrong’s empire suffered a serious blow when the end failed to begin in January of 1972, as Armstrong had predicted, thus bringing hardship to many people who had given most of their assets to the church in the expectation of going to Petra, where such worldly possessions would be useless.” 3 According to an article in Wikipedia:
“The failure of this prophetic scenario to take place according to this Co-Worker letter scenario, which was often repeated over the years in print by Armstrong, may have been one of the initial reasons why the church organization began to decline as unfulfilled expectations led to great disappointment. As events unfolded, it became obvious 1972 did not have the biblical significance that the church had anticipated for nearly two decades.”
1974: Charles Meade, a pastor in Daleville, IN, predicted that the end of the world will happen during his lifetime. He was born circa 1927, so the end will probably come early in the 21st century.
1975: A major Jehovah’s Witness prediction date.
1978: Chuck Smith, Pastor of Calvary Chapel in Cost Mesa, CA, predicted the rapture in 1981.
1980: Leland Jensen leader of a Baha’i World Faith group, predicted that a nuclear disaster would happen in 1980. This would be followed by two decades of conflict, ending in the establishment of God’s Kingdom on earth.
1981: Arnold Murray of the Shepherd’s Chapel taught an anti-Trinitarian belief about God, and Christian Identity. Back in the 1970’s, he predicted that the Antichrist would appear before 1981.
Rev. Sun Myung Moon, founder of the Unification Church predicted that the Kingdom of Heaven would be established in this year.
1982: Pat Robertson predicted a few years in advance that the world would end in the fall of 1982.
1982: Astronomers John Gribben & Setphen Plagemann predicted the “Jupiter Effect” in 1974. They wrote that when various planets were aligned on the same side of the sun, tidal forces would create solar flares, radio interruptions, rainfall and temperature disturbances and massive earthquakes. The planets did align as seen from earth, as they do regularly. Nothing unusual happened.
1984 to 1999: In 1983, Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, later called Osho, teacher of what has been called the Rajneesh movement, is said to have predicted massive destruction on earth, including natural disasters and man-made catastrophes. Floods larger than any since Noah, extreme earthquakes, very destructive volcano eruptions, nuclear wars etc. will be experienced. Tokyo, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Bombay will all disappear. Actually, the predictions were read by his secretary; their legitimacy is doubtful.
1985: Arnold Murray of the Shepherd’s Chapel predicted that the war of Aramageddon will start on 1985-JUN 8-9 in “a valley of the Alaskan peninsula.”
1986: Moses David of The Children of God faith group predicted that the Battle of Armageddon would take place in 1986. Russia would defeat Israel and the United States. A worldwide Communist dictatorship would be established. In 1993, Christ would return to earth.
1987 to 2000: Lester Sumrall, in his 1987 book “I Predict 2000 AD” predicted that Jerusalem would be the richest city on Earth, that the Common Market would rule Europe, and that there would be a nuclear war involving Russia and perhaps the U.S. Also, he prophesized that the greatest Christian revival in the history of the church would happen: all during the last 13 years of the 20th century. All of the predictions failed.
1988: Hal Lindsey had predicted in his book “The Late, Great Planet Earth” that the Rapture was coming in 1988 - one generation or 40 years after the creation of the state of Israel. This failed prophecy did not appear to damage his reputation. He continues to write books of prophecy which sell very well indeed.
Alfred Schmielewsky, a psychic whose stage name was “super-psychic A.S. Narayana,” predicted in 1986 that the world’s greatest natural disaster would hit Montreal in 1988. Sadly, his psychic abilities failed him on 1999-APR-11 when he answered the door of his home only to be shot dead by a gunman.
1988-MAY: A 1981 movie titled “The man who saw tomorrow” described some of Nostradamus predictions. Massive earthquakes were predicted for San Francisco and Los Angeles.
1988-OCT-11: Edgar Whisenaut, a NASA scientist, had published the book “88 Reasons why the Rapture will Occur in 1988.” It sold over 4 million copies.
About 1990: Peter Ruckman concluded from his analysis of the Bible that the rapture would come within a few years of 1990.
Unfortunately, it only takes one person to get it right.
Bummer
Thanks to this thread -Alberich in particular- I am no longer an atheist! I have explored my religious identity and discovered that I am a discordian and that I believe that in end of time Cthuluhu will awaken the great old ones and we will all be eaten. Our only hope is to be eaten first. Hopefully we will have our own slothmud discordian sect up and running in short order.
Adam’s good for shit like that.

2006 - Al Gore - General retard and once vice president of the US. During his VP he never said a single word about global warming. Then during several election cycles later he goes stark raving mad. Starts telling everyone that polar bears will drown in the arctic if he doesn’t stop spending 20k a year in electricity. Other politicians ask him to curb his carbon emissions and he politely buys credits from the very company he formed. The end is near.

Yea funny isnt it. Right when Hillary and Obama are in the middle of attacking each others campaign. I gaurantee Gore will announce his candadacy for president.
I dont know if any of you have followed this whole story.
What he’s proposing will impliment a World Wide carbon tax. Setting in motion, if he accomplishes his goals, The first ever world unification for government. It starts with taxes
Some may say, well the foundation of the UN or the EU could be said that’s the start of one world government. Which in fact, its a form of it.
However they began as a world peace organization. As soon as you start seeing something taxed by a uniform entity. Thats the beginning of a government. Down with Gore!

I honestly don’t see Gore running. He’s done too much wierd stuff to have any chance at all. All repubs will do is run pictures of him and his mountain man look and that would pretty much do it. Besides, he is making plenty of cash preaching his own form of the end.
Let me retract my previous post about gauranteeing he would run. I cant gaurantee anything. However i wouldnt be surprised if he did.
I appreciate everyone’s reposnses to this post.
Al Gore must be the anti-christ then.

I believe in leading by example. Al Gore wants everyone to live a certain way and he does not want to abide by those rules. If the global warming concept was so “devastating” to him then he would reduce his own emissions. Instead he purchases carbon credits through a company that he founded. You dont think this is a scam? You don’t think that possibly Al Gore is talking a bunch of shit to inflate his movie deals, book deals and carbon credit company deals? BTW a european country is passing a law that would make grilling illegal without paying a grill tax. It would amount to about 20 euros a year. They are going to enforce the law with helicopters and infrared cameras to detect anyone illegally cooking food. How many CO2 emissions does one of these helicopters produce? This is total insanity. The people running every country have totally lost it.
Mike
but…but… Al invented the intertubes!
You know your country’s gone nuts when there are helicopters patrolling for illegal barbecue use :)
my god
The BBQ isn’t true. It was some party in British Parliament that wanted to tax portable natural gas containers the same way that gasoline is taxed at the pump. The opponents labeled it the BBQ tax and shot it down. How this translates into a vast conspiracy to form a one world government I fail to see.
I am curious to know what you actually believe tho.
:?: Is it: :?:
A. Global warming isn’t true.
B. Global warming isn’t caused by human activities.
C. Nothing can be done, so we shouldn’t try.
And don’t try to give some bullcrap answer that somehow involves Al Gore, Jimmy Carter, Monica Lewinski, and Jesse Jackson’s love child.
I’m not sure if the carbon tax i was referring to is this same propane tax. I’m not gonna give my input, cause i dont know.
however to answer A, B, and C.
Global warming is an earthly trend just about every scientist out there will denounce the statements of Mr. Gore.
As a matter of fact scientists (whom i dont put alot of faith in, but since it ties in from the past) say the earth will actually be on a cooling trend within the next 20 yrs or so.
We do need to watch the amount of resources we use because they do polute. Polution plays more of a harmful role to the human being, and living creature than anything.

Erm I’ live in England and have never heard of a bbq tax.
I know we do have hosepipe bans in various areas from time to time (garden hose to you americans).
We do have helicopters who look for illegal hosepipe use using thermal imaging. (Search bbc news on hosepipe if you want a look) in fact it was a minor scandel when tony blair or at least his gardener was seen using a hosepipe in his garden.
Wow, you folks aren’t allowed to use garden hoses?
it’s the same place that has a CCTV camera every damn where - nanny-state gone mad, and probably beyond saving for any individual-liberty-minded folks. I heard an interview with some cat on PBS who was discussing the recent european smoking bans, and he came out with “i wish they’d just outlaw smoking entirely - i’ve been trying to quit for years”. There’s nothing you can do to help someone with the mentality that the government is the solution to all problems. They’re by definition not bright enough to educate (or they wouldn’t be relying on the government in the first place) and have obviously lost the will to take responsibility for their own actions.
Juggleblood - you left out a rather large number of other possibilities.
Unless you want to stipulate that with around 100 years of actual data, we’re qualified to predict geological events that take place over the span of eons?
that’s a mighty small data set.
You’re also missing the fact that regardless of ones opinion on global warming, it doesn’t neccessarily extend to ones solutions of the problem. There are plenty of people who may be willing to even agree that it’s 100% the fault of the human race, and that it is indeed a problem. That doesn’t imply for everyone that the solution is a governmental one.
/continue with your regularly scheduled flame-war.
When we all have cancer, and have wiped out the majority of species, maybe then we’ll bother to clean the place up, or move to Mars colonies. :)
I dont have a thought on the specifics of actual “Global warming”, but could it honestly hurt anything to clean up and reduce waste, use, and pollution? I mean why not work on it anyway? I bought a Honda Fit the other week, and love getting 40mpg. Cuts my gas bill quite a bit. Can use the money saved to spend on booze and strippers while I await the announced end of days started in this evengelical thread.
:)
Party on!

And don’t try to give some bullcrap answer that somehow involves Al Gore, Jimmy Carter, Monica Lewinski, and Jesse Jackson’s love child.[/quote:3es38srz]
Since you dont know wtf your talking about ill refer to this.

I never pointed this to any one world govt conspiracy. There is however a lot of other shit going on in the world to point to that. All through time people have tried to take over the world, what makes it such a hard thing to believe now. Unless you want to deny the crusades, or deny WWI or WWII and the haulocaust its pretty easy to see that people in power want to run the whole show.
I was saying that you can add Al Gore to the list of wacko end of times ppl and you say that I deny pollution? I never said that global warming did or did not exist. I just said that Al Gore has lost his fuckin mind. I do agree that we pollute and destroy our environment. I do not agree that we should just halt all technology in US so that China and other countries can go on polluting. Do I drive an SUV? Do I fly around the world to get publicity for my last book deal? WTF did I do? Exactly how am I on the wrong side? What side am I on anyways since you obviously know me better than myself.
Mike
PS Next time you try to debunk me get your fuckin facts straight. Im not against you.
Well what point are you trying to make will all this ranting anyway then? It’s certainly not very clear.
How is Al Gore hurting you exactly? I think he’s just trying to increase awareness of a problem. Why you want to fault him for that?
I’m am sorry I missed that story you were referring to. I like the picture and caption they have on their homepage. Kind of says it all.

“The fact is that the United States military answers to one commander in chief
in the White House, not 535 commanders in chief on Capitol Hill.”
Mike, I like you a lot, but you gotta learn that you can’t believe everything you read.

This is the internet. People can create anything they like and post it. If you get all your news from similar sources, you’re bound to be deceived.
Charles
“Reports appeared in local media earlier in the month that a law had been approved to charge residents of the 4-million-strong region 20 euros for each grilling session beginning in June.”
Did you read the article that you posted. I actually did not get the stuff from the same sources. I heard about it and looked around on the internet and found a few articles. I see the article I posted was removed. Clearly many people were deceived.
So the local media in Belgium was playing an April fools day joke?
I clearly do not see how it is funny or able to happen.
Is the Belgium media trying to “test the waters”?
Mike
PS What about Thraxas and the hosepipe ban. BBQ taxes are a possibility.
Here’s a Chuck Norris fact you may not know. If Chuck Norris endorses you and appears in one of your campaign’s TV ads, you take the lead in an Iowa poll and your Web server crashes. That’s what happened to Mike Huckabee, the shrewder-than-you-realize former Arkansas governor (sound familiar?) who has become a major player in the tight Republican presidential race. The ad opens with Huckabee deadpanning: “My plan to secure the border? Two words: Chuck Norris.” The camera moves back to reveal the Man Himself, who praises Huckabee as a solid, gun-loving, IRS-loathing conservative. Huckabee adds a twist at the end. “I approved this message … So did Chuck.”
“Chuck Norris doesn’t endorse,” Huckabee says in one of the forthcoming spots. “He tells America the way it’s gonna be.” That doesn’t sound very democratic, but as the Web site says, this isn’t a democracy. It’s a Chucktatorship.
I just wonder how people can look outside see that the air is frggin brown and figure everything is A ok.
England banned burning in city areas too because they at least could tell the air was crap and something had to be done. Not that it didn’t take them a while to do it.
oh and big AL is as big a crook a Nixon was. Don’t believe a word he says.
It’s easier to live by the philosophy that everyone that tells you what to do is a liar.
Terribly so but this is very true, (eggs are good for you / eggs will kill you) Every group & government have their own agendas and sadly we are not an important factor to it.
The human psyche is inherently designed to be concerned about their surroundings, but how can we be focused when so many are out there perverting it for their own gain?
The future is coming.. and we better be ready.
