I just got off the phone with Medios. Nice going screwing thieves with the new pth changes. As if it wasn’t hard enough for them already with imms checking IP addies.
Bummer for Sorabji.
Maybe next time, talk about sports or something.
New changes screwing pthiefs? Oh dear, how sad…
maybe some people will come back and play now.
Maybe next time, talk about sports or something.[/quote:2w23in9i]
rofl nice
All I said was that the safe room mobs now attack known pthieves so I havent seen any.
You oughtta not be shady to Al Broc. You’ve pthieved nearly as much shit as him, and some from your friends.
Your a funny guy Aaron.
Al’s a chronic pthief. You guys share enough characters its hard to tell whos playing who.
Also to be Frank about the matter. Al was such a turd on sloth 2 he almost got my school site banned for his behavior. Took 3 immortals from Maryland to plead to not have it done.
I think I will keep my opinion about him, its justified.
Since the soap box is up.
Aaron maybe you can explain to the mud why I bought you a $35 case of beer, drove it out to Illinoi, for you to stiff me on my end of the deal?
December of 2004, still waiting as of today.
Thats shady, but hey lesson learned on my end.
the deal was for the +25 healbonus held high which i gave you, plus the helm of dwarves I threw in since you did me a real kindness with the beer. what am I missing?
I don’t know which is saddest, that:
a) One of you was so desperate to get wasted you’d trade MUD equipment for beer.
b) That the other one was so desperate to get MUD EQ that they’d pay for it and drive somewhere to deliver it, or
c) That either of think we’d give enough of a fig for you to post this on a web site.
order sloth flame grue
Got to hand it too you Grue…
I’ll never seen someone post at the most random time,
about the most random personal issues,
the most random opinion,
that doesn’t even involve themselves.
Your a classic! keep up the good work. :D
alright, since this has turned out to be a thread about me, I’ll give my 2 cents about this issue
Yes, I DID own sorabji, at one point anyway, as for being an ass and pwding it on mosaix, here’s what REALLY happened.
Sometime last year, around the time “Sloth 5” came about, mosaix came up with a nifty plan to earn drachma with newbies and buying restring tokens from deam weaver and selling them, so I helped him with getting the autoquests. Having built one up myself, sorabji happened to get really good stats at 3x18 or so, so I decided to keep him and play. One fine day, we get bored and decided to start screwing around since mosaix’s always bitter about the mud (read half his posts about how nobody helps him and how he gets no eq, yadda yadda.) Anyways that was how sorabji was born….and he’s had the password since, tho I did play him from time to time, but not to pthief. One day I had to go to china for 3 mths, and had no time or a stable internet connection, so I told him he could play Mustang but instructed him not to sell as I shared the char with Aaron. Whatever happened next I’m sure everyone is well aware of (how mosaix tried to sell mustang as he says “it was his one and only chance of advancing in the game.”) anyways, I thought that was settled between him and aaron so I left it alone. I still had another char “STELIOS” that Impz played, but impz retired so I got him back. When I got back home, I didn’t have time to mud, so I let mosaix have stelios, and also gave tiffany away, and a bunch of other characters.
a few weeks later, I cleared up all my projects so I had time to regularly mud again, and i see mosaix online, so i chat up with him. He tells me he has “kept sorabji for me” if i’m still interested so I thought that’s cool, and ask him if I could have stelios back. He says sure, he’ll change it later. days, weeks, he still hasn’t changed stelios’ pwd. So I start making my new characters. A valk quest comes along and I ask for sorabji’s pwd which he gives to me. Quest ends and I change sorabji’s pwd since he said I could have him if I wanted. Day after day i ask if i could have stelios back, then one fine day he tells me he isn’t sure if I should have stelios (3x40 char) back coz I passworded sorabji on him coz it’s not cool. So I told him to go F himself.
I now own only Gimlet, and Mizuno, and a few dumbmonks (literally). If anyone can remember, I was gossiping about free characters to give away (mostly thief primes coz I was tired of playing thief primes) amongst the characters I gave away were Blaze, Sorabji, Hough, Tiffany, and a couple of newbie casters with nice stats whose names I can’t remember. It’s unfortunate a couple of them were turned into pthieves, but those who’s seen me on and hunting them whenever they’re on should know I don’t play them.
As for mosaix, he is someone who steals from clan vaults, not to mention TELLING me to give him some of Tiffany’s eq (when I mistakenly thought I still owned him and asked for a pwd reset, tho I’ve given the char back since) basically asking for everything that’s being given away to be given to him.
So here, believe what you want. If you choose to believe that I’m sorabji and going around stealing, then be it. Come pkill me. I don’t really care. The game isn’t that big of a part of my life to blow a hissy fit over. Unlike some people who claim the game sucks and they won’t play much anymore, but come online to bitch about everything about the game.
another point:
I may be an ass at times (or most of the time) and pthief alot in the past,
but I’ve helped more random people with XP and EQ (giving out or helping them re-equipt) and have twice emptied my vaults and eq collection to run newbie quests. What have YOU done for people lately, or ever, for that matter?
If you will permit me to make light of an tragic situation…
I feel like I’ve just seen an episode of jerry springer
(you think of the episode name)
Makes me what to start a new character called DrPhil
I want to hear what grue has to say about all this! :D
Who plays Sorabji now?
I never knew Gimlet was mustang, but I guess that explains the title on sorabji recently… Which makes me think who is getting back at gimlet? cause he kills sorabji so much? Mosaix?
At least jerry springer made sense. :D
There’s a moral here somewhere…
Pthieving is bad, mmm’kay?
Ever heard of karma?
All in all, also a very good example of why I never share characters.
“I want to hear what grue has to say about all this! "
I know you don’t really but seriously :)
You share characters you pay the piper for any infractions of the person you share with, it’s that simple. I cannot be expected to know that blog is John one time they are logged on, and Steve the next. When Blog cheats or pthieves, Blog and all of Blog’s chars are affected. Know that and act accordingly.
There have been cases I know of personally where someone screwed up and then tried to claim it was a shared character when it wasn’t. In the end no-one, including the immortals can rely on that. I can remember one case some time ago when someone hacked a character, sold all their equipment and stole their gold, and then claimed their son had used the char. All their chars still got wiped.
The best thing you can do is create a newbie, a few days later tarnsfer all you chars on in a way noone sees, never use the old chars again no matter what the temptation (people actually notice patterns of who logs on and rents). Build up the new chars and never let anyone know, and certainly never be naive enough to believe that at some later stage you can come clean and people will forgive you.
That’s the reality. Trust is earned, not owed.
I don’t see any reason to hide. I’ve been a known (ex-)pthief most of my mud life, but it’s also ironic that I should have more friends than alot of self-righteous people (like grue) on the game.

Yawn. You are a very silly little person if you make assumptions based on what you think you know about people from the Crier, Mustang. I am actually friends with most people on the MUD, they just don’t know me as Grue.
Reveal yourself gruester!
Like I said, I don’t need to hide, unlike you.
Why hasn’t this topic died yet?
Yeah, this is stupid. I just want to know if we can kill Gimlet and take his eq.
Yeah, this is stupid. I just want to know if we can kill Gimlet and take his eq.[/quote:fislfjag]
Er, is that all you can think about Juggle? Whats in it for you? heh
Gimlet no longer owns sorabji, and told me he doesn’t know who does. shrug
Yeah, this is stupid. I just want to know if we can kill Gimlet and take his eq.[/quote:4pockjub]

Ok, you lose several points for not paying attention…

Based on the above, I think it’s techincally been OK to kill him for the past several years. Based on his own comments, I don’t think this worries him much.
You also lose a wagon full of points for good sense. There’s many reasons why he hasn’t become a corpse in that time.
you CAN pkill me and take all my eq, if that’s what you really want. I won’t even put up a fight, but my eq pretty much sucks…hehehe.
I’ll just start over and get to where I am now in no time
I (rub) would have a good shot at taking Gimlet if he didn’t expect it. Might even take him in a fair fight. Frostbolt hurts.
As for losing a wagon full of point for lacking sense or something like that…
Look I’m no brainiac on the nerd patrol. I’m not a member of the factinista. I go straight from the gut. I give people the truth, unfiltered by rational argument.
I think the facts are simple. Gimlet was so upset at losing the password to Sorabji that he began secretly stockpiling weapons of mass destruction and we must now rise up and pkill him to take them away before he destroys the whole mud. It’s indisputable.
As for Grue, I think its time we outed his identity as a member of the Secret Mud Police. His real identity on the mud is Sabin.
The truth will set you free.
Grue,
I wasn’t desperate to get wasted. Believe it or not, there are some beers that
aren’t available nationwide, and I am a good beer afficionado. If I can’t get it here, I’m happy to trade someone something that’s local and easy for me.
What kind of beer was it, ‘stang?
We have some tasty stuff up here: New Holland, Dark Horse, and Belle’s to name a few. I have even been known to brew up a batch of my own when I have the time.
Let me know when you have the hankering…
Qa
It was some Dogfish Head Midas Touch. I can get Belles Two Hearted and Nut Brown here, but really only like the 2 heart. What I’d like is some New Glarus
or Flying Dog or Victory. I also have been brewin’ for about 4 years now.
hit me at stomp442@gmail.com to discuss.
Theres alot of players here who have pthieved in the past. I wont even begin to start naming people. All that aside I think Gimlet has been quite the gentleman lately. He used to be in our clan before he quit and has always helped me out. The only problem I ever had with him was his loud mouth on the gossip. Hes tamed that down alot and now some people start provoking him. I would rather you guys leave him alone and let him keep being a decent player instead of throwing around a bunch of bullshit and pissin him off. You guys are always talking about pking someone, but when a real pthief is on you turn your back. Speaking of real pthiefs, has anyone seen one in the last month?
Mike
Anyone notice 13 and Qa fixing to go thru the same thing? It’s a vicious cycle.
Hmm, opportune time to bring this up. I once posted about the arena and asked where it was. Everyone had a good ol’ laugh at the n00b. Anyways Krok quoted me, and then added that second line.
[quote:282yqo1r]Ok, Blastem… he’s a member of DoW - he can’t be a pthief..
—> that’s my favourite!!))))) [/quote:282yqo1r]
What exactly did she mean by that?
Blastem could never be a pthief?
Blastem is a pthief?
DoW don’t allow pthiefs?
….
Care to enlighten me Mike? Krok?
Or it could be that two of the main members of DoW are Aaron and Gimlet, both of whom are famous retired pthieves.
So no, DoW couldn’t possibly have a pthief in it.
Is this the same Aaron that had an Imm and wrote Clipper and arbo II and redid demonweb xp? Oh how could a famous retired pthief ever immort? Aaron you scoundrel!! <—-Musta lied on his app!!
This nonsense if you read back started cause I said Bummer for Sorabji.
Which was a respone to Aaron complaining about new rules against pthiefs.
Why do you have a problem with new rules against pthiefs? Are you one?
Were you Poolp or something? I mean seriously. Those poor poor pthiefs, sorry to see their lives made harder. Lets stand up for them and defend them!
I didnt name anyone, that came about in Aarons loud mouth response to “Bummer for Sorabji” Aaron you named Al.
Albert can be nice, polite, fun, and at times can help you out.
Though for the most part he cant stop stealing, disrupting and getting loud at those who question him.
Some things he is famous for:
Stealing Kong’s Sword of Valor. Demanding a ransom, then junking it when the ransom wasnt paid.
Using gossip to check for people with weak tintin, then finding them and forcing them to quit and stealing their stuff. Example Tinkles. Dont see Tinkles anymore in game?, do last player.
At this time if you press button at the west gate 100 times and drop the notes you would see this. small note (100)
It used to be that you could drop those 100 notes and all 100 would show in the room. He would do thousands of those notes so when you either entered the game or recalled to west gate, you would loose your link from the spam. He would then steal from you while you were busy re-connecting. You pthiefed to a point where the code had to be changed to stop you.
Bugging an immortal to change a pword on a char, then using it until the player noticed his char online. Char was though returned.
Way back when you were Cyphus. I cant remember why at this moment but you were wiped. Long way to go to avatar and then end up getting purged.
The list is rather long, but he is very creative and very smart.
I definately applaud you for finding multiple ways to get things from people.
In the past he has used Blaze, Sorabji, Briar, and some others that I cant remember at the moment. They always seem to get “traded” away after they get too caught to use anymore. To my current knowledge he uses Gimlet, Volodos, and Visionary.
His behavior is disruptive, arrogant and plain stupid. Its time to put it to sleep. Either play the game with some respect, or expect to get ridiculed when people figure out who you are. Free pass is not valid here.
Mike I respect you alot, you a fantastic player. But I fail to understand protecting, and rationalizing, a perpetual pthief.
Aaron you want to be a big bully and push people around. Im really tired of it. Hopefully im not the only one affected by your behavior. I cant imagine all those you label “noobes” appreciate it, and I refuse to tolerate it anymore.
Everyone who doesnt show perfect understanding of the mud you belittle and shove down.
Again, you screwed me on that deal, and you should be ashamed. I took the time to visit with you guys there in Illinoi, and I get stomped on and bashed in return. Thats bullshit. You once traded Mullah for the same case of beer. Char was fully loaded. What I asked for in our deal was peanuts compared to that. Aaron good to see that Mullah, Eva, and Mustang are all under DS header now. 3 chars given away to people in another clan. I remember not too long ago how critical it was to get Mustang back for the “clan” but I guess not since it was given away.
To conclude my rant.
Pthiefs in general I can deal with. I dont keep stuff in my inventory, and i only change stuff around in safe rooms. However im tired of the chronic pthief stuff, and definatly tired of bullies that shove other mudders around. I am and will contiune to voice my opinion whether im mudding here and there or full time. Sloth has been a great game for me to play since 1994. I want it to be the best place to entertain and relax a bit from day to day life. Others should be able to have that joy, and not have it ruined by some dumb ass. Maybe Sloth 3 is content at being #5 all the time on the mud vote.
Time for some people to rise up and tell people to stuff it. The mud can be a fun social place, I dont expect it to be perfect, as it never will.
However some of you clowns need to seriously STFU and find something else to do. Keep your real life problems and short comings off the game and find somewhere else to vent and abuse.
Flame it, I like my burger extra charred please, with hot sauce.
Mosaix
I agree, pthieving is wrong. I myself am only guilty of loving the wrong person. And no beer wasn’t involved but there are other ‘vices’ just as bad.
Which reminds me, has anyone seen my babies daddy Autlolycos? Our son is growing to be a strapping youth and I’m sure with my skills and his father’s swagger, he’ll make a fine pirate one day!
I am totally confused who is who now.
I’m starting to think only two people play this game, and they are me and someone else who owns all the char’s… or at least formely owned them!
People who post to this board as different people, but no loner own the char names they post as… highly confusing.
Pretty nice rant too Mosaix. One thing that really annoys me is when pthiefs “retire” and then think you should give them more respect as a result. Well they don’t ask for respect, but the fact that there “retirement” is announced is really a call for respect.
Next day they seem to be pthiefing again on some other random char once owned by somebody else shared by someone else, brought with a case of beer, from some other player, who posts as a char he no longer owns.
Seems to be a lot of secrets tied up in DoW.
I am Jezer/Ecko/Jingjitdisk - I post to the board as Jezer - I do not pthief and judge me own my own merits!
yeah it’s funny how after i seemed to have done everything mosaix listed in his list, that i’m good friends with Jake.
realy funny that Jake, being good friends with someone who tries to destroy his mud.
as for mosaix, why don’t you list what you’ve done
Mustang isn’t Mosaix?
You mean there could actually be three people that play this game?
Damn im thirsty, all that beer talk MMMmmmMMMmmm.
order sorabji steal keg guinex
Devil made him do it!
I don’t have any kegs, but if i find one around i will have the skeleton of a pthief hook ya up.
Mosaix is Mosaix/Osaka/Endor
Mike,
Aarons last immortal was Elwood which he no longer has, I remember it being taken away from him. Did something naughty.
Elwood is pworded at the moment.
Elwood’s last logon was Mon Apr 4 07:24:24 2005
Oh dear I’m so confused now …
poolp isn’t derro
derro isn’t me
I’m not poolp
Got it?
Elwood was a good Imm, the reason for his departure had nothing to do with cheating or pthieving.
On a side note, I’m sorry I haven’t been around last month or so. I will be perma afk for another month. Real life is insane atm along with a project or two I’m stuck finishing before I can concentrate on smaller additions.
Enjoy,
Splork
Watching Jezer be confused is mildly entertaining…
Aaron was a serial player, he now posts as 13. He created so many characters and sold them it was unreal. He used to post as Mullah, but he sold that char to Leaf. Al shared Mustang, I think, and he made that his board name, but it was Aaron’s char and got given away when he retired. I’m not sure the exact logistics…
Moral being, board names are pretty unimportant. One reason I switched to 12345.
DoW (Dogs of War) is a clan of very close real life friends. The main requirement to join used to be that you had to know Aaron in real life or be a friend for about 5 years. So it doesn’t take much to see how things can get shared and shuffled around so much. It’s more helpful to get to know the people behind the names… it’s just easier all around.
They have all been playing since the beginning of time and know the old school tricks and work arounds. In fact, I haven’t heard a lot of the things referenced in Mosaix’s list since about 94.
I’m also not in DoW, so if I said anything obviously wrong… oh well, I’m sure they can correct me. There’s also plenty of people in the game that don’t have a DoW tag, so acting like they’re the Borg is a bit melodramatic.
Jesus Christ, what a messy slamfest this has become. I haven’t played sloth
since last October. Grapenut gave me Mullah at level 9 because of the Gulf
War situation, the name was too controversial for her. I got worn out with the
dr/ma class-order so I advertised that I would trade for some Dogfish head.
What happened was that Kali/Stryker gave me 75$ for her at 3x40 with eq.
There was no secret about that. Mustang was the first character I rolled when
I came back after talking to Heck(Strider) about new classes. Al had been
marking time on Briar, not really getting anywhere. I scooped him up, because he’s an old friend of mine from Sloth II. I fucked around with some
other characters (Karkus and Slipknot and 13) and spent my extra rerolls on
Mustang. Al had no character except Briar to play, which was a character
that was ruined for all time, so I told him if he rolled good stats on Mustang
he could have him. He rolled 1895 15 16 17 18 so we got started with eq
and levels. After a while Al left on hiatus and left Broc with the pw. The next thing I knew, I saw Mosaix selling eq of mine out of the vault on the block and
Mustang (who was left in broc’s care) is being stripped of eq that I put on
there for Al to use. I changed the pw and started playing him. Then I sold
Mustang Eva and 13 to Zeke after I quit playing sloth. Al came back, not
knowing what was going on with Tiffany, and requested the pw back. he
got it and played her for a while. Serega has the character again, plus somelevels. Al actually did the same thing to me with Mustang, but OMG
I didn’t wig out on him. It was an easy mistake to make, so I talked
to Rick for a minute and he reset the pw for me. Shortly after that is when I sold.

You’ve gone off the deep end Broc. Why don’t you mention all the newbs
that you have baited into attacking you so you could fuck with them some
more. These aren’t skilled old schoolers, these are newbs. Why don’t you
mention taking part in the client rape in SS of those russians? Why not
talk about the last year and a half that you had those pth alts? Heck man,
no need to be a little whiny girl about this shit. Let’s just get this shit out in
the open homey. I prefer the seedy side of the mud, I’ve made no secret
of it. On the contrary it’s a well-known fact. I think that stuff like that,
interaction between players (like Arena or Pth) makes the mud seem a little
more personal, and fun. Who wants to sit around and just cycle mobs all
day? Players play because of the people here, otherwise why not just play
Bard’s Tale or some shit?

Elwood was a good imm and did do good work. The origional Elwood was not Aaron? then he was using him for awhile. While I was still actively mudding suddenly Aaron wasnt able to use him anymore.
What then was the actual reason for that?
Aaron, what char of yours could I buy for two cokes and a half a glass of evaporated milk? :|
As i remember, Jake was becoming real heavy about people voting, there was another mud that we was competing against, well pretty much. Trying to get more votes than them ect. some of those players from that other mud decided to post on the crier. Elwood posted something that i guess was bad sportsmanship that referred to the other mud, which lead to him being passworded. Tho these details may be a little summarized, it is generally what happened.
However, Mosaix did come here to see us. Im not sure how the deal between aa and broc went. But since broc finds it necessary to clean the cobwebs out of others closets. I would like to enlighten folks that the finger should yet be turned around because i do remember him smiling and laughing when he told us he stole from Torso, tho it was b4 he was in our
clan and when he came to visit he was already in the clan.
I would also like to say that we generally try to help our clan members as much as possible, if they come to us with a problem or want us to help kill a mob with them we will usually do it. Many of you know how much medios/minstrel is saving people when they die and such. Just like many of you do for us. So why wouldnt we help a clan member as some people claim? It comes to the point where
A. We cant read peoples minds, we dont know if there is a prob until given.
B. Mike and I may not have played there for a while but many people have their peak times to play. as everyone on here knows stuff happens in rl.
C. If people needs stuff i [b:3f0hnjj5]encourage[/b:3f0hnjj5] them to try for themselves before crying about someone not helping.
As for Al he has never given me a reason personally to not trust him.
Daedalus
I’m the only Elwood ever. You should know immortals aren’t allowed to be shared.

I know, I’m just yanking your chain. Although I would have hoped it would have been some good imported beer, like maybe Scottish or Austrian.
There’s also plenty of people in the game that don’t have a DoW tag, so acting like they’re the Borg is a bit melodramatic.[/quote:tzi3384w]
hehe crack me up that did.. although not a good idea to put quest rewards to the vote when there’s a bunch of clan members there huh :?
In your last post, it should be noted that in the same mysterious vault I lost a POY in your vault just after you came back from a break in playing. It was unfortunate that then your cracked skull lamp also dissapeared.
Maybe the two items are somehow connceted. Your answer if you remember to me at that time was stuff dissapears and that was that.
Off the deep end, maybe. But you welched on a deal, expect to be held accountable for it. You ripped me off and Im pissed. Earlier this year I tried several times to e-mail you privately and you blew it off. Your e-mail did have problems, but you had started to respond then didnt when questions got asked.
So when at the beginning of this post you flamed out on me it seriously pissed me off.
In regards to Torso, I stole the briefcase out of his inventory once.
I think the only item of interest was a Juju charm. Played a level 20 thief for about 1 month in summer of 2004. Mostly got food bags and junk bags. Didnt have the urge to ruin a player by stealing a robe, and the junk bags got boring so I stopped.
Aaron I just dont appreciate your behavior/attitude and ive had it. Sorry.
Broc/Mosaix
You bitches are crazy.
The Days of our Sloth Lives……to be cotinued
Listen motherfu cker you still didn’t say what else I was supposed to owe you.
First of all, im not defending any of Als past actions. My comment is that he seems to be doing alot better and theres no reason to bring up old stuff that doesnt matter. Aaron has asked me several times to invite Al back into the clan, he was a member before Mosaix. As far as the trash talk about DoW, I remember the stuff you guys say and the next time someone needs help I might not be around. We can start making this personal if you like.
Mike
PS My clan is about free thinkers, people that can do stuff for themselves. We dont pthief, harass, or otherwise ruin anyones time on the mud. Its in my opinion that its quite the opposite.
The reason for Elwood’s departure or any other Imms for that matter is between admin and that particular Immortal.
Enjoy,
Splork
Aaron was the Immortal Elwood…
Hell, there’s really only one whiny baby on this thread, let’s just lock ’er up.
Yeah I agree. Splork, consider yourself incarcerated.
I don’t even lock threads when their sole purpose is to rip me a new one, so I am pretty hesitant to lock this one. Especially when I am enjoying the drama :P
I blame Splork
I have also very much enjoyed this post. In fact its been the highlight of my mornings and I check it throughout the day.
As a n00b to sloth, I often feel outside of the hard core old player groups of which I generally try hard to mix with, in order to learn the game.
I’ve frequented the slothmud player gallery, trying to figure out who is who, and who is buddies with who, just so I can figure out where I fit in and who are the best people to ask for advice.
I was pretty disappointed when this whole post could be summarized by two brothers complaining to their mum that each had stolen each others toys. However its been great to know where people stand with each other. I find it hard to understand why there seems to be this cone of silence on various things on sloth. shrug
Sometimes I think of ditching my southerners tag and joining a clan which could be of benefit to me. But I guess its more about others than yourself and thats what makes it fun. I guess shyla is a bit of an example about that.
I was just that same way Jezer, only it was Zorich and Alpheus and Strider
and Argent that I wanted to know better. May Nia and Hectordick rot in peace.
Someone asked me this online, thought it fair to respond here.
I like Dow, I truly enjoy Dow. Thats not in question for me. They are good people that band together. The makeup of current players shows smarts and intelligence that I enjoy playing the game with. Nab, Blastem, Krok and Minstreal in particular at one time or another have gotten together and knocked some stuff out for sure. Lis took a break and is now back, Daedalus is very nice and has rescued my dead ass on more then one occasion via ICQ. For all my complaining on this thread Aaron most of the time is ok, hes a nice guy in person, but online seems to go a-hole mode from time to time. Some of the earlier members I never really got to meet. This particular deal, and getting blasted earlier in the thread really pissed me off, and have nothing to do with Dow itself.
Albert and I have had some enjoyable moments and some not so enjoyable moments. I dont dislike him, i just cant say im pleased with him. Neutral.
Aaron in response to your question. I asked for 4 forges back then. The helm of dwarves and grey shard you had and gave up. Obsidian sleeves and Rune of Netherworld were supposed to be built over time and handed over. They never got done. Mike has helped me quite a bit over time with what has now become an Ars Magica project as it was added after 2004.
I think im almost done with it except for 2-3 comps on the rune, and
1 comp on one other forge for Ars. Maybe you guys could assist me in finishing the Ars and then call it a day on this. I dont have time to hawk the mud all day and finish it myself. This summer id be able to play a bit though in about a week or 2 when my gigs are done. Want to finally get to 40 avatar with silly Klurik Mosaix
Mosaix
Lol
this is pretty funny shit….
after spending the past few days dissing us and telling us how we suck and how he wants nothing to do with us, he now says he likes us and wants us to help him complete his ars magica
Albert dont be an ass. Read before you attack. At no point did I slander dow. Im still not pleased with both of you, and am trying to resolve the issue so we dont perpetually argue with one another.
yeah it’s a real good way of resolving things by digging up ppl’s past shit
anyways i’m off this thread, happy flamin
Once upon a time there was once a little fisher-girl named Calyssa who lived with her grouchy old stepfather in a mud hovel by the sea-shore. Every day he sent her out with her hook and line to catch fish, and she angled and angled; though for herself she preferred to eat fried mushrooms and sourdough toast.
One day Calyssa was sitting with her rod and looking into the clear water, and she sat and sat.
At last down went the line to the bottom of the water, and when she drew it up she found a great Flounder on the hook. And the Flounder said to her: “Fisher-girl, listen to me; let me go. I am not a real fish but an enchanted prince. What good shall I be to you if you land me? I shall not taste well; so put me back into the water again, and let me swim away.”
“Well,” said Calyssa, “no need of so many words about the matter. Since you can speak I had much rather let you swim away.”
Then she put him back into the clear water, and the Flounder dove to the bottom and swam away. Then the fisher-girl got up and went home to her stepfather in the hovel.
“Well, girl,” he growled, “have you caught no fish today?”
“No,” said Calyssa. “That is, I did catch a Flounder, but he said he was an enchanted prince, so I let him go again.”
“Then you didn’t wish for anything?” demanded the stepfather.
“No,” she said. “I never thought of that.”
“Stupid girl!” yelled the stepfather. “You never think! Go back to the sea and call to the Flounder and demand a reward. A nice stone cottage!”
Calyssa didn’t want to do this, but her stepfather yelled and yelled, and she had learned long ago it was no good to oppose him. So she went back, and the sea was green and yellow, and she stood and said:
O man, O man! – if man you be,
Or Flounder, Flounder, in the sea–
Such stepfather I have got,
For he wants what I do not.
Then the Flounder came swimming up, and said, “Well, what does he want?”
“Oh,” said Calyssa, “my stepfather says that I should have asked for a reward when I turned you loose.”
“You will have to go and ask the Sea-Queen about that,” said the Flounder. “And if anything calls out to you for help, carry it along to her.” And he pointed to a path that led in among the rocks nearby.
So Calyssa went along the path. The path led up and down, down and up, among the rocks and cliffs, and after a while she sat down on top of a cliff to rest in the sun; and while she was resting, she heard a tiny little voice calling out, “Please help, please help me.”
Looking around, Calyssa found the voice was coming from a mass of tangled seaweed drying on top of the rock. Looking closely, she saw that many shells and starfish were trapped inside the tangle. “Please carry us to the Sea-Queen,” they said. “She can untangle us and get us back home.”
So Calyssa picked up the mass of sea-weed and slung it round her shoulders. It was dry and prickly, but not too heavy. Then she continued along the path, up and down, till she came down into to a rocky little cove with a little sandy beach. On the sand sat a big Mud-Turtle.
“Good day, good Turtle,” she said. “Can you tell me where to find the Sea-Queen?”
The Mud-Turtle said, “Ride on me and I will take you to her. But you must sit firmly on my back or you will drown.”
So Calyssa sat on the turtle’s back, and the turtle walked slowly along the bottom of the sea, along and along, through mazy twisty coral passages, and finally into a big rocky cave; and all the time the girl could breathe the water just fine, because she was sitting on his back. She looked around the big cave, which was full of all kinds of sea-treasure: pearls and coral and ambergris and all kinds of lovely shells and graceful dancing anemones. Then she looked upwards to the surface of the water above. There sat the Sea-Queen, a beautiful giant lady sitting on a giant lotus flower which floated quietly on the surface of the water above them. The Queen smiled kindly down, and said: “Hello, good Mud-Turtle. And what is your name, little Land-Girl? What brings you here?”
“Er, I am Calyssa. Er, how do you do? Er, M’am?” said Calyssa. She was so dazzled by the Queen’s beauty and kind smile, that she forgot all about her stepfather. “Er, er, here, M’am, I have brought you these creatures in the seaweed.” Calyssa felt very silly and tongue-tied. But she was so overjoyed just to be in this beautiful place that she could not remember what she was supposed to do.
“Thank you,” the Sea-Queen said kindly. Changing herself into the form of a great Octopus, she reached down three tentacles and began gently untangling the seaweed.
It was a wonderful thing to watch!
Gently the tips of her tentacles pried open each dried shell, letting warm water flow into it. As the water filled the dry cavities, out floated many tiny trapped creatures, happy to be free. There were also little sea-snakes who had dried into knots, all tangled up with each other, like dried sea-weed. These she gently moved so that the warm water could flow around and under them and soften them, so they could move and wriggle and untangle themselves. Finally she opened the shells of the hermit crabs, and let fresh warm water fill their cavities around them; for they did not want to come out.
When all the creatures were soaking wet and happy again, the Queen resumed her human shape and said to Calyssa: “Thank you very much for rescuing my subjects, both the sea-weed creatures and the Flounder. How may I reward you?”
“Er, er— " Calyssa scrathed her head.. “There was something I was supposed to ask for—some nasty person wanted something….” Finally she managed to remember! “Er, my stepfather wants a stone cottage.”
“Go and tell the Flounder to give him one, with my compliments,” said the Sea-Queen.
So the Mud-Turtle carried Calyssa back to the shore, and there was the Flounder still waiting. So Calyssa told him, “The Sea-Queen said for you to give my stepfather a stone cottage, with her compliments.”
“Go home with you,” said the Flounder. “He has it already.”
So the fisher-girl went home and found, instead of the mud hovel, a nice little stone cottage, and her stepfather sitting on a bench before the door.
“Now this is a little better!” her stepfather growled. “Why didn’t you do this in the first place?”
Calyssa thought the cottage was a whole lot better than their old mud hovel. There was a neat small porch, and a pretty little parlor and bedroom, and a kitchen and pantry, with the best of furniture, all fitted up with the most beautiful pots made of tin and brass, whatsoever was wanted. And behind the hut there was a small yard, with hens and ducks, and a little garden with flowers and fruit. “This is all just as nice as could be,” Calyssa agreed.
“I’ll think about that,” said her stepfather.
Everything went well for a fortnight, and then the stepfather happened to bump into the the doorframe. “It is all your fault!” he said. “You should have asked for a bigger house. Go back and ask for a big stone mansion!”
Calyssa did not want to trouble the Flounder again, but her stepfather ordered her, so she went.
When she came to the sea the water was quite purple and dark-blue, and grey and thick, and no longer so green and yellow, but it was still quiet. And Calyssa stood there and said,
O man, O man! – if man you be,
Or Flounder, Flounder, in the sea–
Such stepfather I have got,
For he wants what I do not.
“Now then, what does he want?” said the Flounder.
Calyssa sighed. “He wants a big stone mansion.”
“Go home with you,” said the Flounder, “he is already standing before the door.”
Then Calyssa went home, and when she got there, she found a great stone palace, and her stepfather standing before the door. In the mansion was a great hall paved with marble; and there were many servants, who flung wide the doors. And the walls were all bright with beautiful hangings, and in the rooms were chairs and tables of pure gold, and crystal chandeliers hung from the ceiling; and all the rooms and bedrooms had carpets, and food and wine of the very best were standing on all the tables. Behind the house, there was a great court-yard, with stables for horses and cows, and the very best of carriages. There was a magnificent large garden, too, with the most beautiful flowers and fruit-trees, and a park quite half a mile long, in which were stags, deer, and hares, and everything that could be desired.
“Now, this is getting better,” her stepfather growled.
“It is all just as nice as could be,” Calyssa said.
“I’ll think about that,” said her stepfather.
Next morning the stepfather took Calyssa up to the top of the mansion where he could see far and wide over the beautiful country lying on all sides. “This land needs a new king,” he growled. “Go back to the Flounder and tell him I want to be king.”
“Look,” said Calyssa, “you had better stop this. You’ve changed your wish once already. I don’t think the Flounder and the Sea-Queen are going to like this.”
But her stepfather became angry and ordered her to go and ask, so she went.
When she came to the sea, it was quite dark-grey, and the water heaved up from below, and smelt putrid. And she stood there and said,
O man, O man! – if man you be,
Or Flounder, Flounder, in the sea–
Such stepfather I have got,
For he wants what I do not.
“Now then, what does he want?” said the Flounder.
Calyssa sighed. “He wants to be king.”
“Go home with you,” said the Flounder, “he is king already.”
Then Calyssa went home, and when she got there, the mansion had become a palace, and had a great tower and magnificent ornaments, and a sentinel was standing before the door, and there were numbers of soldiers with kettle-drums and trumpets.
And when she went inside the house, everything was of real marble and gold, with velvet covers and great golden tassels. Then the doors of the hall were opened, and there was the court in all its splendor, and her stepfather was sitting on a high throne of gold and diamonds, with a great crown of gold on his head, and a sceptre of pure gold and jewels in his hand. And on both sides of him stood his footmen waiting in a row, each of them one head shorter than the last.
“Now, this is getting better,” her stepfather growled.
“It is all just as nice as could be,” Calyssa said.
“I’ll think about that,” said her stepfather.
Next morning the stepfather said, “I am getting bored. Go back to the Flounder and tell him I want to be emperor.”
“That’s ridiculous!” said Calyssa. “It wouldn’t be safe! Each time the sea is more and more angry–”
“You will do as I command!” said her stepfather. “I am the king!” And he had his guards surround her and they marched her to the sea at spear-point.
When they came to the sea, it was quite black and thick, and began to boil up from below, so that it threw up bubbles, and such a sharp wind blew over it that it curdled, and all the guards were afraid and fell back. And Calyssa stood there and said,
O man, O man! – if man you be,
Or Flounder, Flounder, in the sea–
Such stepfather I have got,
For he wants what I do not.
“Now then, what does he want?” said the Flounder.
Calyssa whispered. “I think he is crazy. He wants to be emperor. What should I do?”
“It is not your fault,” said the Flounder. “Just tell us what he says. – Go home with you, now; he is emperor already.”
Then Calyssa went home, and when she got there, there was a new palace made of polished marble with alabaster figures and golden ornaments, and soldiers were marching before the door blowing trumpets, and beating cymbals and drums. And in the palace, barons and counts and dukes were going about as servants.
At the throne room the royal servants opened the doors to her, which were of pure gold. And when she entered, there sat her stepfather on a throne, which was made of one single large block of gold. And he wore a great golden crown that was three feet high and set with diamonds and carbuncles; and in one hand he had the sceptre, and in the other the imperial orb. And on both sides of him stood the yeomen of the guard in two rows, each being smaller than the next, from the biggest giant to the very smallest dwarf. And before the throne stood a number of princes and dukes.
“Now, this is getting better,” her stepfather growled.
“It is all just as nice as could be,” Calyssa said.
“I’ll think about that,” said her stepfather.
So Calyssa excused herself, and snuck down to the treasure rooms, and filled her pockets with jewels, and took and hid them under the rocks by the seashore. She thought about running away right then, but the weather was so dark and stormy that she decided to wait till morning.
Next morning her stepfather said, “An emperor is too materialistic. Go back to the Flounder and tell him I want to be pope.”
“That’s – that’s impious!”
“You will do as I command!” said her stepfather. “I am the emperor!” And he had his guards surround her and they marched her to the sea with their diamond spears.
And a high wind blew over the land, and the clouds flew, and towards evening all grew dark, and the leaves fell from the trees, and the water rose and roared as if it were boiling, and splashed upon the shore. And in the distance she saw ships pitching and tossing on the waves. And yet in the midst of the sky there was still a small patch of blue, though on every side it was as red as in a heavy storm.
So, full of despair, Calyssa went and stood in much fear and said,
O man, O man! – if man you be,
Or Flounder, Flounder, in the sea–
Such stepfather I have got,
For he wants what I do not.
“Now then, what does he want?” said the Flounder.
Calyssa whispered. “I know he is crazy. He wants to be pope. What will you do?”
“The Sea-Queen will take care of it,” said the Flounder. “Go home with you, now; he is pope already.”
Then Calyssa went home, and when she got there she saw what seemed to be a large church surrounded by palaces. She pushed her way through the crowd. Inside, everything was lighted up with thousands and thousands of candles, and her stepfather was clad in gold, and he was sitting on a much higher throne, and had three great golden crowns on, and round about him all was great ecclesiastical splendor. And on both sides of him was a row of candles the largest of which was as tall as the domed ceiling, and all the emperors and kings were on their knees before him, kissing his shoe (taking turns, of course).
“Now, this is getting better,” her stepfather growled.
“It is all just as nice as could be,” Calyssa said.
“I’ll think about that,” said her stepfather.
So Calyssa excused herself, and went and packed her bag, and a lunch, and got ready to run away that very day. But just then the guards surrounded her, saying, “The pope has summoned you,” and picked her up and carried her to him.
“Ah, there you are!” he growled. “I have been trying to think what there is left to wish for.”
“Nothing,” she said.
Just then the sun was going down, and the rays came in the window and glared upon his face.
“I’ve got it! I want to command the sun when to rise and when to set! I want to be a God.”
Calyssa jumped to the floor and ran for dear life. But the guards caught her, and carried her to the seashore.
And outside a great storm was raging, and blowing so hard that they could scarcely keep their feet. Houses and trees toppled over, the mountains trembled, rocks rolled into the sea, the sky was pitch black, and it thundered and lightened, and the sea came in with black waves as high as church-towers and mountains, and all with crests of white foam at the top.
The guards set her by the water and poked her with their diamond spears till she cried out, though the wind blew so loud she could not hear her own words:
O man, O man! – if man you be,
Or Flounder, Flounder, in the sea–
Such stepfather I have got,
For he wants what I do not.
“Now then, what does he want?” said the Flounder.
“Oh,” Calyssa sobbed, “I cannot even say it. He wants…”
“You can tell us,” the fish said gently.
“To be a God.”
The lightning cracked once and the winds stopped. Mist closed in.
“Your stepfather is sitting in his old mud hovel,” said the Flounder. “Now, you come home with us.”
“May I really?” said Calyssa.
“Yes, please do,” said the Flounder. “We have talked it all over, the Mud-Turtle and the little Snakes and all of us, and it is the Sea-Queen’s wish and command to have you join us.”
And there was the Mud-Turtle waiting, who at once took Calyssa on his back; and he carried her through the water, down and up, and came out on the shore of a beautiful green warm sunny island full of spicy scents; and the sun was shining without a cloud in the sky. There the Sea-Queen was waiting, and embraced Calyssa. (The Queen smelled like flowers, though she was rather wet.) The Queen led her to a beautiful cottage in a flower garden, just big enough for one, and a hundred times prettier and neater than the one they had given before.
“Here you must stay,” the Queen said. And all her subjects gathered round to welcome Calyssa, and brought her wonderful fruits of the sea, and fetched the jewels Calyssa had hidden under the rock back on the old beach so far away, and they all played at tossing them and trading them back and forth for sea-jewels.
And so they played together for many happy days. And soon the Flounder’s time of enspellment was over, and he became a handsome prince and Calyssa’s best friend. He often took her to visit his own country, far beyond the sea; but she liked best to stay in her own little cottage on her own little green island.
So for the rest of their lives, Calyssa and the sea-creatures all lived together in peace and merriment, and Calyssa never had to catch any more fish. And as for the grouchy old fisherman, he must have learned his lesson, for he was never seen nor heard of again.
The End
The moral of this story is OH GOD I’M CONFUSED !!!!

That’s the first I’ve heard of any rune of the N. or obsidian sleeves. I remember that you were working on the forge, but I wouldn’t have agreed

Ok, tell you what, I’ll buy both of you guys a case of beer provided not only the squable subsides, but also the elsie never writes anything like that again ever! Also you will have to come to Wisconsin for the beer (really it’s a small price to pay, afterall you get to enjoy my beloved state)! Actually, Elsie you are also invited, but you will have to drink shots of stoli while writing a new masterpiece on the subject of a cure for the double whiffs! :P
Thanks, all I’ve got to say to that is:
GÃ¥ til Per i hagen
Har du vondt i magen,
Så gå til Per i hagen.

Clarification of Al/Albert, people are asking if you are referring to me. My real life name is Al/Albert. I am Turbo on Sloth; I don’t have time to read 7 pages of messages on this topic.
I liked the story, Elsie. Thanks.

damaged Sloth how?
I was by far the most innovative pthief this MUD has ever seen. I think you’re jealous of my success and popularity with the ladies.
Why do you think you were banned? No point playing innocent, there’s no need to restate what you already know, heh.
..You define innovative as multiplaying and cheating?

I was only “banned” because you cried like a bitch to the imms after I said I fucked your wife (ha ha). That was aweesome, it was worth it. You said you’d sue me for libel. HAHAHA.
Anyways,
My status as the most handsome badass motherfucker to grace this MUD with my noble prescence remains.
I must admit I miss morting Guinex, though.
Carry on, please!
Your friend,
Blackguard
have a nice day.
This is clearly personal stuff. Take it elsewhere. It is not welcome here.
This is not a pleasant request. I have no patience or time for it. It escalated once before very recently and I’ll take similar actions again with no further warning.
Clink
That’s quite a spam and I could barely read it. Elsie, try not to post the long stories! I don’t really care about your personal stuff guys, I’m trying to be nice and helpful to all our clannies, but if someone says something bad about DoW, that might cost them.
Someone quoted me about pths and DoW. I only meant that if a person is in a clan, that doesn’t mean he/she can’t steal or have another secret char, shrugs. That’s about all clans in general.
About Tinkles - she got all her eq back after the triggers abuse and that’s not why she isn’t playing, she moved to another country or city and has a lof of work as far as I heard.
What about poor Guinex sneef

[/quote:1o8cb23i]
Please do not presume to speak for the clan of Golden Tiger.
For the record, the Golden Tigers do not support PTHs at all. Pthieving by clan mebers in any character or any form is not tolerated.
Qa, member of the council of elders of the Golden Tigers.
I think Krok simply meant that its almost impossible for clans to police members. The only way to find out alt chars is to level up an imm, then snoop ips. This seems a little against the rules.
For the record DoW does not support pthieving either. If I knew a current member was pthieving they can surely be removed. We want to represent the elite players of slothmud, not the vermin who terrorize n00bs. However, what someone did years ago, or on another game does not reflect how they are treated now. I treat people the way they treat me and other fellow players. Everyone has a bad day and might say stuff they dont mean. I even remember one time when Qa said he would never join a DoW group. That never stopped me from inviting him. That being said I think you guys need to back off Gimlet, hes a good friend if you give him a chance.
Mike
PS If I catch you fuckin up Al, im gonna smoke you like this phat joint.
The same can be said of DragonSworn. We’re as selective as we can be, but nothing is foolproof. If you are discovered to be a pthief, I hope you can outrun a relocate.
Any pthiefs in sMAc will be used as shark bait.
smoke As much as i hate pthieves terrorizing noobs, i really do miss killing them :(
I wouldn’t feel too bad G. Nor and Jor have been around and are pretty lame. Nor spent some time trying to hack my scripts so he could force me to quit!, drag me out of a safe area and loot me at will. I imagine he would have eventually modified it to get me to remove some key equipment if he could have gotten it to work. While it might have been interesting if he had gotten it to work, I’m pretty sure client rape would have gotten him wiped, banned, or worse.
I logged on and saw Jor on, so I spent about a minute giving him a hard time. He decided that being webbed and blinded at recall wasn’t as much fun as advertised, and left. Since I was only on to check clan news, I rented about a minute after that. Was about 4 minutes total I think.
So… you’re not missing much.
Is blackguard that dude I killed a bunch of times?
The one with the really long stupid name?
Fyrstenheart ?
