Bards Instruments

·612 words·3 mins

Hello,

Can anyone or Barbs player define the %/%/% on eq?

Like the viol, drum, or other eq?

I know one is like a time before you need to sing again, another is mana %

on saving for each “resing”, but thats only two :)

%bonus effectiveness on song/%mana saved on song/# of extra people affected by song

At least I think so? You think I’d know for sure :)

It’s % increase in song length, % mana reduction, # of added listeners.

Humm… ok cool,

Do they stack with more eq that has %/%/% ??? or it’s just off 1 item?

Also does Charsmia help add # of ppl effected by a song?

Only instruments have “%/%/%” and all these bonuses do not stack. You use the instrument with highest bonuses automatically.

As or charisma EQ, I am quite sure it does not affect the number of listeners…

You sure that Charisma doesn’t effect the number of people affected by benificial songs? From what I’ve seen, it usually does? I could be wrong though too.

I was almost positive it did - maybe by increasing the max # or something. I don’t know why I thought this, but that was what I seemed to believe.

Just wondering, because alot of “higher” bards with +charisma eq effect

more ppl in larger groups. However a bard with lower charisma eq, won’t

be able to effect the same number of ppl. Or thats how it always seems.

I was always under that impression!

Well… I could be wrong with the way of testing… but I did the following thing:

I took my charisma mode that is just 3 or 4 point less than cap for prime bard, went to gnolls, entered the room with the most number of mobs and used CRY. Result - 14 corpses, and some mobs where not even touched.

After repop in gnolls I took my regen mode (that provides me with about 5 charisma points) and did the same thing … Result was the same… I may be wrong with the exect number 14 or 11… but it was the same as in charisma mode. That’s why I made my conclusion.

My view of the problem. I am sure that the number of listeners depend on the instrument you are using, your level and, may be, on glamour… and, if I am right, then I do not think that it is a good idea to make it depandent on charisma…

Direct from the Glamour Spell description:

[quote:2d96131d]

e ‘glamour’ spell drastically increases the

bard’s charisma, enabling him to affect more people with his songs (in

Ocarp’s case, enabling people to stand his presence - barely)

So Glamour affects the number of affected targets BY affecting charisma.

Regarding your method of testing, I beleive the offensive abilities do not drawn their ’number of affected targets’ from a bards charisma, but have a set number of max targets (the 11-14 or so that you said, can’t really remember what it was when i tested it). But I did the same thing, and no charisma - mid charisma - and Full Charisma all effected the same ammount. In this case, all charisma will do is affect the saving throws of the mobs against your songs. Again, I could be wrong.

I’ll test it again, along with some area spells, see if perhaps they might have the same cap on targets? I theorize that they might use the same maxes? Anyone know if firestorm and such has a cap?

The # of targets regarding charisma and instrument are likely only for benificial spells, I would assume. Gods, and dreams, and the like.
