Anyone that has ever played a thief knows how it is when a mob in a particular area you are running hates you and anyone that has grouped with a thief knows we aren’t built for standing there trading punches. It usually looks like something like Tigris is Dead!!! Was curious what people thought about a skill such as the Presage skill that monks have. Could be something like “Disguise” which would cause a mob not to remember the thief character for a short period. Also, the idea of “Frontstab” was mentioned to me which would be similar to backstab except the thief would take damage at the same time.
Anyways, just a thought. Curious about ideas that others might have on the subject.
any class can take blows, you just choose to set up your character in such a way that makes him/her crunchy.
if a mob hates you, you can’t possibly expect to kill it the same way that you usually do? or are u trying to get past it? it would defeat the purpose of making presage monk-prime only, if the imms would now give thieves a skill that does similar.
I don’t understand what a “frontstab” skill would do? Stab the mob while you’re fighting it? there’s already a skill called circlestab.
I’m not sure if this still works here, but if it’s a dark area, you could always remove light, put infravision or darksight up, heal up the mob, and then backstab them again. There were tons of other “thiefy” tricks, it just took some creativity to deal with a whiffed stab. Or just get some AC equipment and brawl them out multi-run until they died.
The variety of unique skills which most classes offer is the reason our players pick and choose a certain classo. Adding identical spells and skills to a class causes these decisions to become less important, which we avoid.
