Dont know is there any way to know it except to grow up with levels and try. Vixn could summon 2 skeletons or 1 spectre at 20level prime. Maybe ‘+control undead’ eq will give you ability to summon more creatures, but I dont sure. I have only 2 points of control undead and I can summon equal quantity of creatures either with or without this item.
Maybe BIG NECRO GUYS know more easy way to specify that?
And one more cent: skeletons actually aren’t summoned but animated creatures. And Vixn cann’t summon 2 ghosts at 20level prime.
As far as I can tell, control undead equipment does not affect how many undead you can summon. This is determined by your necromancer level and whether you are necromancer prime or not. For example, I can have my Ju-Ju and 2x wraiths summoned at lvl 40 prime. From level 20 to 29 prime I could only summon one spectre in addition to my Ju-Ju, and from level 30 to level 39 prime I could only summon one poltergeist in addition to my Ju-Ju. Maybe a non-necro-prime can chime in with what they can summon.

as far as i know control undead eq only affects the stats of your animate/summons - give’s ’em higher hps, bigger dam, doesn’t have anything to do with limits
of course my only char with ne in classo is ne tert and he’s a lowbie, so I’m no expert :)
