It would be really nice that mage mirrors would not be hit if damage is less than xx (xx being anything less than extreme hits maybe?).

For example there is bigger mob that mage wants mirrors up for and some small sapling springs into attack and with his “barely” hits removes all the mirrors.

It would be really nice to take that damage instead of wasting mirrors and thus a lot of precious mana.

Does a mage need +dam eq? :)

Hey all!

Can anyone give an idea does a mage need +Dam eq for any of heas gears? I’m wondering if i need to forge those celestial bracelets before leaving valk… :)))

It’s unlikely that a mage needs dam eq. It’s probably better that a mage uses this slot for +mana or +mana regen or +spellbonus eq.

However there is always a case when something is useful, and if I didn’t point this out, someone else would come along and argue the point ;)

Celestial Bracelets cost 400k to forge? and they will be superseded at 3x40 when you can forge ashen bracelets which are -0.2 +dam.

The cp’s are worth nothing by themselves, so yeah I’d forge them, even if it’s to sell to someone… you might get 500k each for them. Beware the rent on these is fairly pricey for lowbie items from memory. 3.5k? I can’t remember.

detect ether: has duration, will tell you if a room is nogate, no magic rope etc.

dispell ether: pushes ether out of a room for awhile making it gateable or magic ropeable.

summon ether: makes a room nogate, no rope for awhile.

It’s the same. :) If you can’t cast magic rope - it’s already nogate.

Don’t bother Krok… its code. We just haven’t figured out how to translate Brand yet.

just like the object spell only it tells you what continent the room is in or better yet what area…

multiple rooms with same name return multiple results or just confuse you…

Hi all,

I’m relatively new to the mud and am wondering what effects where Mage is possitioned in the classo.

Mage as prime means…. two prime only spells (mirror image and reflection) some prime eq.

Assuming that mage is somewhere else in the classo what else changes.

eg. HP and MP per level HP and MP Regen per level?

Your prime and secondary class determine your stat order. Mage primes’ best stat is always Int.

There are caps on the amount of spellbonus eq you can wear based on where mage is in your classo. I believe its 90/70/50/30 but could easily be mistaken on specifics there.

If mage isn’t prime, disregarding issues of HP/MA by levels,

mage 40 = mage 40 no matter where in your classo it is.

If you’re considering cleric and mage for sec and tert you should probably go /cl/ma/ instead of /ma/cl/ because stuff like supplicantion depends on where that class is in your classo

40 mage equipment?

I’ll be 40 prime mage in a few days and any equipment help is appreciated.

Does spelldamage equip make it that much better? I was looking at the eq list and didn’t see much spelldam equipment that wasn’t drachma/forge related or autoquest rewards that I have no idea where to find, and even then most is 2x40 or better. I don’t have any spell bonus equip and only about 3-5 bonus MR at the moment. Almost everything I am using is things people gave to me or I bought from armor/auction shops.

Is there any decent mage equipment that is easy to pop solo? I see a lot of good looking forge stuff but I don’t think I can really solo any of the areas the forges are in. Just assume that I would be level 40 mage.

Anyway, here is my current equip and stats.

Ma: 37 Dr: 20 Cl: 20 Mo: 8

16/18/17/17/13 nat

-4.2ac with stone skin

a blue egg

a greenish ring

a gold chain

enchanted shoulder guards

a suit of mystic plate mail

Mages are awesome post everything you know about mages.

I heard they use mana… but maybe it’s just rumors.. :)

mages are overrated… especially one named blastem..

he is just weak… and i also heard he sleeps with a teddy bear

not all mages are overated im not anyway dont know about blastem, mages use a veriety of differnt spells unlike cleric and necromancer using on major type of casting.
