So Zero and I took on Otedo in Witches who is reportedly the one who loads this candle. Zero died 1x and after the mob died, Zero took him on a second time and using my pets, Otedo was toast.
So here’s the question, Does anyone know the pop rate on this guy for the candle. Does anyone know if the rumors are true that once lit, the candle has a chance of going out while reading? Can the candle be reused?
One last question, for those who have done this, does the sb crumble?

this is absolute horse-shit. the candle doesn’t pop well, you can NOT
rent it (just falls on floor in the inn), the books cost a TON and they crumble
of course. i’m not sure if the candle can go out or not but i would not
be surprised.
The candle does go out, but it lasts for a handful of ticks. Regardless, once you start reading it won’t matter if the candle goes out. The candle can’t be reused, so you’ll probably need to pop two.
The cool point is that multiple people can read from the same candle, so you can often find people to help cycle Otedo if they need the same skill.

This definitely needs to be re-looked at. Rapid shift works well for lowbie forms but for mythic forms it sucks.
The pop rate is low but not horrible.
Yes, the candle cannot be rented and will eventually go out. It will last long enough to read 2 books so don’t bother popping until you have both books.
Yes, the silly books crumble and are way overpriced.
Yes, you need to be in a dark room.
I actually wouldn’t bother gettin them with the way the current system is and since is hardly helps with any form above dragon.
Rapid drops the shift lag on piasa from 16 to 9 seconds, if I remember right.
